I am considering getting an Imperial Knight strictly because I think they look cool. What are some of your preferred loadouts for knights? Since I don't have an army for it to go with at this point I don't have a lot to go on as far as what weapons I should give to it. Give me some ideas for loadouts you like for when you play your knights or just loadouts you think look cool. Thanks!

My favourite is warden followed by crusader.
Mind you whatever you do do it with magnets so you aren't locked in as what you want depends also on rest of the army so change rest of army, best loadout will often change as well. Plus same always is boring anyway and sooner or later GW will change what's good anyway

Definitely magnetise, yes. It’s easy to magnetise a shoulder so you’ve got a knight that can be a Warden or Crusader, for example. Magnetise the other shoulder and you can even run it as a Gallant.
As it happens Wardens and Crusaders are my favourite knights too. On the whole I think a Crusader is probably the best knight you can take if you’re just taking one of them. The difficult decision will be whether to go for the Thermal cannon or Battlecannon – that’s not quite so easy to magnetise. You can easily do the gun barrel, but it’s harder to do the back part with the magazine etc.

Magnets aren't even necessary since the arms can be rotated out of their socket. Certain weapons might bump the shoulder pad so that might need to be able to be detached.

The problem is that you don’t get enough shoulders. The warden kit comes with two guns and two close combat weapons, but only two shoulders to stick them to. So you have to magnetise at the joint between the shoulder and gun. Luckily it’s fajrly easy to do, because there’s loads of empty space in the lower arm.

It's easy to magnetize you can have any combo whatsoever so why not?

Warden with Stormspear pod is the best all-rounder IMHO. I do like a Crusader as a fire support unit for non-Knight armies. Gallant is fun as a distraction Carnifex and will shred anything it touches if your opponent fails to put it down on Turn 1.
Paladin and Errant seem lacking IMHO.

I have seen a lot of talk online that the shooty Questoris chassis are not that great anymore, kind of obsolete compared to the new Dominus Knights.
I'd like to go ahead and throw my 2 cents into this thread and say that the Crusader, at least, is still quite powerful for the points.
The loadout I have been using is the cheapest possible while still taking a carapace weapon :
Knight Crusader : 473 points
-House Raven
-Ion Bulwark
-Endless Fury
-Thermal Cannon
-Ironstorm Missile Pod
-Heavy Flamer
-Heavy Stubber
This guy is highly durable, has a gun for almost any kind of target, and good in close combat.
It's actually very efficient for its points. A truly powerful all-rounder, great allied detachment that can fill gaps in an Imperium army.
Now, the Castellan is actually very specialized. Between Cawl's Wrath, Volcano Lance, Str 10 Ap-4 missiles, and 4 melta guns, it focuses is on tough, high-value targets.
For 130 points less, the Crusader still has a good punch against tough targets with the Thermal Cannon (although it is unlikely to 1-shot a Baneblade), and it is much better against light and heavy infantry and can shred light vehicles and transports.
Throw in some extra anti-tough-target units elsewhere in your list and the Crusader is certainly viable and even competitive. Highly recommended.

Your loadout works in an all knights list, but when your taking a Astra Millicheese Brigade with mortors and hellhounds etc, killing infantry isn't what you need the knight for, it's for LOW or vehical killing something the Castellan excells at.

I have a new love for the Gallant. It's cheap at 350pts, good weapon loadout, fast, tough, and can be monstrous with the right Strategems. Death Grip is possibly the nastiest Strategem you could use on anything T3-5, and if he does die, use another Strategem and a re-roll for a 75% chance to explode amongst his units!

I magnetized the round spot at the vertical cylindrical part of the 'shoulder' component, which makes a great contact for magnets on the guns. The hang straight down which doesn't let the guns droop forwards like magnetizing the shoulder-to-torso spot does.
I cut off that excess swivel-part of the shoulder component that would insert into the gun to create the swivel, since that magnet will permit swivel anyway.
To fill holes to support the magnet crumple up a little bit of aluminum foil, then green stuff if needed, then glue the magnets.
