Subject: DKOK Hades breaching drill and Engineers?

Looking at what to purchase next as I slowly build my DKOK and with the death riders out of stock, im thinking of getting the Engineers+hades drill that is sold in a bundle at FW.
But reading through the index (and errata) I cant see anywhere that says the engineers can even use the breaching drill. Am I missing something or why are they selling them as a bundle if they cant be used together?

Thanks for the email , we are well of this error and have fed it back to our rules team, it was a mistake in our index books which has been commented to be rectified in a future publication. for now we recommend to continue to use these models with appointed costs in your armies for open and narrative games and for matched play games to seek the approval before games begin
Basically "Use DKoK Engineers with Hades Breaching Drill, using the points in the back of the book, in non competitive games. Not strictly legal (it's not printed), but is within the intended rules and spirit of the game".
This is the response FW give to a guy on reddit that asked the same thing.
So we have to wait for another book to have the proper rules, sigh.

The index which contains the rules for R&H and DKoK is an absolute mess.
I guess what FW are saying is 'thank you for your feedback. We know the index is a mess but barring one FAQ we have no intentions of doing anything about it in the near future as Specialist Games are our new cash cow'

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you. |

Why would the engineers use the drill ? The drill becomes a seperate unit, once they are deployed.
Seperate Orders
The first time this unit is set up, the Hades Breaching Drill Squadron must be deployed as a single group with each model within 2" of at least one other model from their unit. From that point on, the Hades Breaching Drill operates independently from the unit of Veterans and both are treated as separate units for all rules purposes.

I think it's more to do with the point that the rules specifically state that only Veterans can pop up with the drill, rather than Engineers.

I wouldn't mind so much, but assembling a Krieg army costs about a grand. It's a high-cost product and it receives ZERO support. It's another reason why FW as a company are a joke, in my eyes.
They charge exhorbitant prices, drop lines when their customers have invested big sums of money in them, and can't even be bothered to write rules for them. On top of this they gouge customers overseas, pretending that this gouging is to the customers' benefit. At this point I think I'm done with FW. Add me to the list of people who would buy their products if they weren't a hot mess of a company, but now refuse to.

The drill, right now, can only be bought as part of a squadron containing a squad of veterans and the drill. They have different loadouts and options then the engineers.
The engineers are sold, among other ways, as a bundle together with the drill yet the index so far does not allow them to use it.
And by "use" it I mainly refer to being able to deploy with it, which is basically a deepstrike.
