So having seen the wonderful Malanthrope fall into the deadly "sold out" slot of Forgeworld (seriously if you asked me to name1 Tyranid model that wouldn't get cut it would have been the popular, well designed and affordable Malanthrope!) I've decided its time to have a serious glance at a few other potential things I'd possibly want to own from their catalogue.
And that leads me to the carmine dragon. Part of me sort of wants one, but another part wonders if its really worth getting. It's the older serpentine design for dragons; it is quite a lanky build and I can't really tell (from the product photos) if its really "better" than say the black dragon from GW (which for the same price one could get two!)
So I want to see yours, hear your thoughts on the one you own or see that really fantastic build and painted one that really shows off what a quality model it is - heck just seeing it on a table with other models to give it a context of size and scale would be great too!

I have the version with Elspeth mounted on it. Still not painted it, and it now needs rebasing onto a round, but it's bloody gorgeous. By far and away the nicest dragon sculpt I've had my grubby mitts on.

Got any pictures of it against other models or just on the field of battle? Or even up to the other dragons?

I think that photo kind of made me realise what I think is the problem with the carmine in my view - its t-rex forelegs. I get that its rearing up, but they just look more awkward than mighty
