Okay. Hey Guys. I've decided to collect Slaanesh army as I know that Slaanesh will most likely get a new release soon, and I really like the models of the army. But I have some question. I have some painting skills but never were doing that type of stuff for a long period of time (talking about painting models). My question is what kind of paintbrushes I should get, cause I know I would need a few (undercoat, shades etc.) and also any tips of Paints? I'm planning on buying citadel paints for my Slaanesh army and I want to paint them in purple.

You don't really need that many brushes. I usually only use 2 or 3 dependant on the model. Maybe a 2, a 0 and a 4/0 for highlights and detail. Same with paints. Technically all you need is red, blue, yellow, white and black, which are the only colours I use when painting designs on leather jackets.
Grab a starter set, a couple of inks, I'd suggest nuln oil and druchi violet, and put some time in practicing. As you advance you can and will acrue more materials.

Do you mean that I can mix them with simple colors as yellow, blue, red etc. and get new ones?

Oh and how about a underlay? Is it really that important to paint your model with underlay paint first?

You can make all colours with those 5. However as a new painter it will be easier if you get some specific colours to your theme. Get a deep purple, a mid purple and maybe a pink or 2 for slaanesh. Good contrasting colours would be greens or turquoise. Oh yeah I forgot about primer. Grab a rattle can of grey primer. I just use the rustoleum/household primers. Be careful not to overcoat with the spray. Once that's on you're good to paint.

I'd get something like Druchi Violet, and then some Drakenhof Nightshade (make sure you water this one down when using it though) and make sure you use a white primer.

The same trick for nurgle can be done on slaanesh, prime white and use stacking layers of shade for the basecoat, does wonders on daemon models! (creates depth due to shades going in the cracks)

You want some sort of grey too so probably just some watered down Nuln Oil should work alongside it!

If you're gonna grab the paints from GW, might as well just ask the shopkeepers, they usually know at least how to do the box schemes for most armies.

Outsmart what you can't beat, and beat what you can't outsmart.
