Hi, I am new to dakka forums and 40k. I used to play fantasy until End Times killed it for me. I've lately been thinking about playing 40k. I have a handful of BA and GK models already and want to play something aggressive and melee oriented. Just kicking around some army list ideas and looking for tips and advice. I am in love with the idea of an extremely mobile army, jump packs, teleporters, etc.and don't want vehicles if I can get away with it.
1850 or 2k pts , not sure what the meta is around my area, recently moved to Eugene, OR.
HQ
Astorath
Sanguinary Priest - Jump Pack, chainsword
Sanguinoir
Troops
x4 Scout Squad, Sgt with chainsword
x4 Scout Squad, Sgt with chainsword
x4 Scout Squad, Sgt with chainsword
Elites
x5 Death Company, Power Swords, Jump Packs
x5 Sanguinary Guard, Death Mask, x2 Plasma Pistol, x5 Power Fist
HQ
Grand Master in Dreadknight, teleporter, greatsword, gatling psilencer, heavy psycannon

Elites
x4 Intercepter, falchions, Justicar with daemon hammer
x4 Intercepter, falchions, Justicar with daemon hammer
x4 Intercepter, falchions, Justicar with falchions
1840pts
Models I have:
Dante
10 Sanguinary Guard
Librarian in power armor with staff
16 interceptors
5 GK terminators
1 dreadknight
2 dreadnaughts, arms need to be replaced (I was kinda kicking around the idea of using either a Psyfleman Dreadnought or a twin lascannon, a missile launcher, and Astral Aim setup and not even sure if I want them or they would synergize well with rest of list.

I can't really comment on the GK, but the BA looks good enough. The only issue I have is with the DC. That is a very small unit, and they're not actually that durable. Powerswords are nice, but the greatest strength of the DC is their weight of attacks. With Astorath around they become immune to morale, so a larger unit might be a better idea if you're not opposed to getting more.
I'm also a little iffy about the Sanguinor. He's a decent beatstick and has a useful buff, but I'm not sure the price is worth it.
I don't know how competitive you're trying to be here, but the staple of strong BA right now is a Captain Slamguinius. If you do get more DC, I found it to be a pretty easy conversion to turn one of them into a smash captain; most of it is in how you paint it.

3 HQ arent good if there arent lots of models to buff them. BA must have a captn slamguinius. Sanguinor isnt worth the poins, remove him. Astoraths mass of doom happens at the start of the movement phase, you cant use it after deepstriking. Your unit(s) have to survive the opponents turn, which is not likely to happen.

Less scouts, more sang guard. Captn slamguinius doesnt necessarily have to be your warlord. A sang ancient as your warlord with the standard of sacrifice will give your sang guard a 5+ FNP, and sang guard can re-roll failed hit rolls.

The second list looks better.
In the first list you had only NDKs as hard targets for the enemy's lascannons.
Now you have two Dreadnoughts in there so that the enemy needs to make target priority decisions.
The army is rather fast and has board control.
