What does GW have in mind with them?

On the whole I love the lore around Ynnead.
Didn't like how it was rushed with gathering storm.
Hate how they influence other Asuryani codex because of the stupid strength from death rule.

I really hope they get a big rework when... (or if?!) they get a codex.

Soon all codex will be done and we still don't know anything about Ynnari.

Do you know something? Or what are your guesses about the future of the Ynnari?

Over the past years, most new 40K armies were done in two steps: a first step where they release just a few minis, often in a boxed game or other promotional thing (DW, GSC, Custodes), followed by a major release if things work out.
That's why I believe a proper Ynnari army is in the pipes, with a codex and a few brand new kits (and hopefully a completely different special rule). And if they release 3-4 new kits, they could even drop the whole "take units from other codex" thing, which would solve the current balancing nightmare.
It looks like release windows are pretty full till the end of the year, and I didn't see anything in the rumor engine that looks Ynnari. So if it does happen, I think we still have to wait for a long time.

As long as there isn't any new model, I think GW's support for the faction will be minimal. I hope the neglected factions like Inquisition and Ynnari will get something in the next Chapter Approved, like a one-page thing like the main factions got last year + a workaround to the battle brother rule, but even a small thing like that isn't a sure thing.

The Ynnari, as I understand them, are a uniting of all Eldar factions under the Eldar god of death. That being the case, it make sense for the army to continue using the vehicles, flyers, and soldiers from their original faction.

While I wish they would get their own codex (so that they don't have to be split up so pointlessly in an FOC as it completely ruins any fluff), I very much doubt they will. The only Ynnari-only models I see them getting are the Triumvirate of the Ynnead. I just don't see GW printing an entire codex just for those three models. But, again, I wish they would print an Ynnari codex.

With the new Rogue Trader mini-dexes there's plenty of precedent for very small faction 'dexes.

Also, given the narrative importance, I personally expect / hope we'll see a Ynnari / Slannesh box sometime next year.

Loved the concept when it was released in Fracture of Biel Tan, but since then I have hated everything GW has done to them. Yes, the rules were too powerful, but there have been literally changes made at every step to a point that I really have no idea how they work anymore. They are a hot mess.
They need their own codex, with decent rules and strategems and stop them from cherry picking other Eldar units. I don't mind many of these actually being duplicate units, just name them differently and then you can alter what you want to make sure they are not OP.

Im sure more story will come out with them, after all codex's are out we will most likely see another round of balances and maybe another odd codex or a SM replacement codex, then thats when more models and some updated lore will be out.

It will be a perfect time to update Ynnari lore when they re-do some CWE models and maybe add a couple units in about a year from now.

Ynnari is actually a big part of the story now, so expect something with them.

I expect a full codex, eventually. Likely incorporating brand new units as well as units from other eldar armies. This solves the detachment problem that plagues Ynnari, as well as balancing the army's rules so they are not powerful/potentially-abusive.

Yes, but they are religious fanatic (joining the Ynnari means a radical shift in your believes), tend to idealize the old empire (and therefore its aesthetics), and have existed for a couple centuries now. I think it makes sense that former CWE/DE/Harlies are now quite different to what they used to be back when they were in their respective factions.
