I am not a fan of the current Railgun pose on Games Workshop’s T’au Broadside. I also want to be able to magnetise my broadsides arms so that I can change between the different weapons. To that end I am making new arms and weapons for 3d printing. The design is based loosely off the Forgeworld broadside but will take some cues from the current model. This is a first WIP image feedback appreciated.

Been a while since I've gotten to do some work on this as my toddler has decided that he is now independent and wont go to sleep until 11 or 12 at night.....

Still things are progressing nicely, the arm and railgun mostly just need prep for printing and the High Yield Missile pod is next.

So my conversion arms for the GW T’au Broadside are complete and ready for print. Fully jointed and with a separate hand ( I may do some others in the future). Wall thickness is 0.4mm (Thanks to Kael'yn's experiences) and comes in at £6.86 in Smooth Fine detail plastic. Test print incoming.

I like your take on the railgun!
Are you keeping the STL private or are you going to share it?

Looks great, like a reverse of the original broadsides.

I'll have to keep an eye out for this and get a set printed

Spoiler:

UPS has finally managed to deliver my prints from Shapeways. These are in smooth detailed material. The support wax didn't all wash out as I suspected would happen but as it's all inside I'm really not that bothered. There is a little flexibility in the Railguns but not enough to worry me (it's similar to the Forgeworld xv88-2 Railguns flexibility). I am delighted with these and look forward to doing more.

You can download a copy of the OBJ  which is covered under GPL licence v3.

They are not a lot easier to see in real life....

It's very nice indeed, my only concern is the Railguns look just slightly too big, I would have trimmed it down by an inch.
