So, I've been out of the hobby for quite a while. In fact i hadn't painted a mini for some 4-5 years until this weekend/today (so constructive criticism is most welcome). The plan is to try and fit more painting, sculpting and maybe evening gaming in around the ever growing list of responsibilities . Fingers crossed. We'll see how things pan out .

I think this looks awesome! I too am coming back after an extended break and am glad to see a talented hobbyist returning.

I like your uses of purples/blues; they add a lot of depth and create intrigue beyond the standard flesh tones and greens. They give a sense of decomposition and begin to create a story for the model. I would be curious to see what the base would look like to this guy.

Thanks! Although it's only my first model, it really is great getting back behind a brush. Particularly as it seems like GW have changed the way they go about things and are pumping out some great minis.

I think i went a little OTT with the colours on this one, but the idea was to get my eye back in on something fun (and potentially forgiving). I'll likely aim for something a little more subtle on the next one.

It does indeed look great. Having done 60 pox walkers I would love to see what 60 looks likes at the quality you painted this one at. But I could never make myself paint them to that quality.

Thanks. To paint up 60 Pox Walkers like this would properly take me somewhere in the region of 300+ hours! So won't be attempting that. It really was only for testing some techniques and getting back in the wing of things.

Lovely job. My only advice would be to try to take your highlights to a higher contrast to get that super pop. The odd touch of almost pure white on the most prominent points will make them stand out.

I agree,. The mat varnish i applied, knocked back the highlights a little. I'll remember that for next time.

Good to see you back.

Great use of purples on the flesh.

That's... utterly nauseating. I've rarely seen a model that makes me vaguely ill like that.

I have to say, that's one of the best Nurgle minis I've seen. Almost beautiful in it's gross factor. Assuming that's what you were going for, I'd say you nailed it.

CHAOS! PANIC! DISORDER!
My job here is done.

Cheers guys, that some ego inflating praise right there.

It's good to be back. I'm pretty sure i wont be as prolifically productive as i once was, but i'm looking forward to getting some more minis painted up.

I recently purchase the 'First Strike' box, so i've got a good little selection to practice on. Might even end up using them for Kill team.
