So, as most of you probably know, the standard dreadnought base is closer to 65mm than to 60mm. This does create a small annoyance when shopping third party ones as to whether the ones they call 60mm are actually the same size as the GW ones.

So, does anyone have a good third party vendor for cheap dreadnought bases that match the size of GW ones?

Are the ones from GW themselves not cheap enough?

Flat bases? Get appropriately thick sheet of plastic and a 60 mm base for a template and get jiggy with a jigsaw.

Get some fine sandpaper to smooth out the edges after you cut / file them. I expect you could produce them cheaper than $1.67 each... but probably not by much.

I’d just buy them from GW, to be honest.

Go to a local hobby store like Hobby Lobby or Michael's. Go to the wood section. Very likely to find wood cutouts that fit the dimensions. I've been doing this for years, even managing to find oval bases that fit for my Eldar bikes

That reminds me of a savage tweet I read from Wendy's.
Chic-fil-A had tweeted "Is there anything better that enjoying one of our chicken sandwiches on a Friday afternoon?"
To which Wendy's replied "Yeah, enjoying one of ours on a Sunday"

Good stuff

your mind

I cut mine from foam core board. After paint glue flock rocks and so on they are fine. Thick enuff and treat the bottom dame as top and very little warpage if any even long term and with metal models.

Renedra makes 60mm bases, four for like $4-5.00. However their bases are disc/flat and not lipped or raised like standard GW bases.

This.

For all the new oversized and oval bases that are not easy to get, I use foam core. Use an existing base as a template. Cut it out with a fresh blade. Seal it with PVA glue.

If you flock and finish your base tops the only exposed original surface it the outer edge. If it's painted black and neatly cut, it's not even noticeable at all.

Also, if you are lucky there are these Dollar Store Plastic Pennies that are about 60mm and come in bags of 5. When I find them I usually buy 5-10 bags to stock up.
