Going to a big event in a month or so. They won't be using the new FAQ. So whatever the meta is now is what I'll be playing against. I came up with this list for my WE.

That Xiphon will get popped far too quickly for 260 points. I would drop it and add some oblitorators, havocks or a third armiger. That should leave you a few points to run 2 avenger gattling cannons on that knight and bump up the cultists for a better screen and to use the tide of traitors stratergem.

A bit of clarification. I chose the Xiphon for the quad Lascannons and it's maneuvering ability. So I'd need to replace it with something equivalent. I also chose the Thermal Spear as an additional antitank measure. Having 2 avengers is nice but not with 25% or more of the tables being T8 models.

Surprisingly the mathhamer on the thermal cannon isn't much different to the avenger gattling cannon vs t8 stuff. And it's much worse vs everything else. Especially if you factor in rerolls on big multi damage weapons.
I just think that the xiphon has too few wounds to stack up. You could take oblits, I usually run 2 units and they generally murder anything infront of them, plus they're guaranteed at least one round of shooting when deepstriking; or if you don't mind brining in a daemon patrol the Khorne DP with skullreaver is a monster and eats knights for breakfast. I've had him kill 2 knights and an armiger singlehandedly before.

The daemon prince sounds like a good idea. I'll have to tool it around to see what it looks like. I wish Bloodthirster was an option, but thry tend to either get punked out or do really well, never in between or even above average.

So I can straight up replace the Xiphon with a DP and a basic squad of 'letters.

I'm gonna test it out this weekend. I wish it was against a regular event list. But it will be a Guilliman gunline so it's not the worst list to play against.

Man that list was brutal. Guilliman, 3 Predator Anhilators, 2 Ven Dreads with dual autocannons and a bunch of bolter boys. I rolled terriand he didn't, making that G man rerolls much worse. He nearly killed everything. By the end of the game I only had Helverins left and the cultists. One of the helverins was at 2hp.

With the FAQ out now. I don't think I'm going to change anything in this list. Gonna play against knights tomorrow to double check.

Made a second list for the he event. This one seems more straight forward. Which one seems like a better choice given the FAQ and the possible meta change (if any). This one or the one above in the screenshot?
