Imperial Recruit in Training

I have a very successful Astra Militarum army (currently unbeaten so i'm satisfied), a Fledgling Nid army (Love my nids, happy with their progression but unsure where to go, if I feel I do in fact need to go anywhere) and I have no drive or passion for my Orks.

I like armies with good fluff, interesting rules and a decent, fast style of play. I cannot paint for the life of me, so i'm just after army suggestions.

Many thanks in advance

(P.S If anyone wants to trade a suggested army for my Orks i'd be more than happy)

I have at my command an entire battle group of the Imperial Guard. Fifty regiments, including specialized drop troops, stealthers, mechanized formations, armored companies, combat engineers and mobile artillery. Over half a million fighting men and thirty thousand tanks and artillery pieces are mine to command. Emperor show mercy to the fool that stands against me, for I shall not.

Fluff rules and fast - Eldar or Dark Eldar spring to mind as two mature armies (honestly even Tau are pretty mature now and are the newest army*) which have decent rules and a fast style of play. Both have access to fast skimmers and generally fast moving units.

Then again run Tau right with transports and they are pretty quick too and can dish out a deadly gunline of fire (although that might be a touch similar to your guard).

*Genestealer cults are technically the newest but they have a long long history of appearing on Warhammer so have a lot of background already

Have you considered Genestealer Cult? A few good reasons for you to try them:

- You can ally them with both your Astra Militarum (as long as you can stomach your succesful regiment turning traitor!) and your Tyranids, meaning that you have a load more ways to build your lists than you currently have
- With them appearing Tooth and Claw and Killteam boxes you should be able to get decent deals on eBay
- The models are all new and look good
- They've been lurking around in shadows of the fluff for decades, so there's plenty of background information to draw on going all the way back to the Rogue Trader era

ok two things.

1st: Before getting rid of your Orks wait for the codex to come out, a codex army has a lot more depth and nuance then it;'s index version.

2nd: I'd reccomend taking a look at genestealer cults, not reccomending them for sure (they also lack a codex, and thus you might find the same issues with Orks can apply there) but given it sounds like you enjoy 'nids and guard, GSC could allow you to do something new well linking those two armies together.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
