Did anyone else find them selves stockpiling for the winter? If so, what did you get? What are you most looking forward to building/painting this Fall?

Wait has there been some major GW insane sale I'm unaware of?!



This year has hit me rather hard, I tried to get back in with Necrons at the very start of the year, but despite lots of personal interest I kind of faltered and failed. However then AoS happened and Daughters of Khaine and BAM that's hit my wallet hard; Titanicus has been a hit too but I've sort of managed to hold off buying lots mostly because I'm still determined to build up my Daughters of Khaine force.

That said I've not really stockpiled, if anything I'm really trying hard not to do it. I've had enough of buying lots and then losing motivation and having boxes of stuff sitting around until I've no interest nor motivation for it. I hope ot at least stick to getting a box of Witches every few weeks to build up (and continually crossing my fingers that GW gives DoK some getting started deal!)

I have most of the Primaris collection to paint (lacking Reivers, a couple alternate builds of units and the FW tank). But at the rate I'm going they'll be done by next winter?

Isn't marine soup one of the best knight CP batteries in the game currently?

I've played against Knight/Ultramarine Primaris armies that make my tau weep. And I've seen Salamander bolter armies that put out more shots than I can! I'm not so sure that codex is as bad as some make it out to be.


With that said, I've tried to stay way from titanicus, but the modeler in me really wants a maniple...

See this is why I don't like compet. Oh well... I am sure it will change sooner or later..

I'll take that to mean that Codex Primaris will come out soon to rectify this, marines are never bad for long since they're the little precious angels of the company.

I know that feeling. I'm running pure Primaris IF (Well I would be if I wasn't trying to get everything painted before playing it....I really need to get everything finished a little quicker). But at least it's not Grey Knights, right?

Other than that, I was commenting that the "best" Marine army is a specific kind of Marine army, not all Marine armies.

Soon™️ doesn't really help the army right now. Also I look forward to that day if only to get more info on how an all Primaris chapter actually works.

Lots of Kill Team terrain and Blue/Brimstone Horrors, because owning just Pinks isn't practical in AoS.

I filled out my Ad Mech force somewhat, including some Hoplites and Terrax Assault Drills but other than that no purchases. When the new Ork kits drop though I'll be throwing a fair few teeth GWs way for sure - won't be able to resist!

Luckily immune.

I don't buy GW retail products, and if I do only on discount and on sale. I bought a discounted Land Raider for a project, and some terrain from a Killzone. Other than that nothing came out that intrigued me. Fortunate enough to have a narrow band of interest. I'm an Eldar player at heart so I don't ever expect a wave of plastic kits...so I'm pretty much immune, lol.

My wallet has taken an absolute mullering. I've got two lots of Tooth and Claw coming tomorrow as well. I reckon I've got a big enough stockpile to see me through at least another year, which is bad because I've only got back into the hobby just over a year ago.

Been pretty easy to avoid. My 2 main armies are Necrons and Imperial Guard. My Necrons (my main army) haven't seen much play lately, and I refuse to buy anything for my tank division on principle alone. Also Chimeras still suck.

I made it a point to get most of my 40k stuff where I wanted it early in the summer. I have stuff, but a lot of it is waiting to see what the FAQ and CA brings in the next few months. I did buy into AoS, but I'm not entirely sure how much that will stick. If it does, I suppose that will end up being my winter GW project.

FFG bullseyed me on X-Wing 2nd Edition. Many Bothans were lost that day.

Warlord cleared my wallet for a couple of zugs worth of tanks and zapped me with Gates of Antares and strafed me with Blood Red Skies. Battlefront then salvoed my wallet for their Tanks! Game.

Couple things for Space Marines.

Lots of bugs though. My painting queue has grown a little out of control.

I sympathize. I'm not allowing myself into my FLGS until half of my stuff is painted. I end up buying too much everytime I'm there.

Got the Drop Force: Awesome box and some paints I was missing, that's about it.

Spent more money on my tacticool Stormtroopers from Anvil Industries, but by the Emperor they were worth the price.

I'm sitting on some money right now, because I have absolutely no idea what future rules changes in the FAQ/CA are going to do with allied armies. I don't want to invest in some models only to find out that it's no longer a good idea to play Guard plus Custodes, or Guard plus SW.

We lost a lot of good wallets out there. Let's take a moment of silence to honour them.

Not listed is 200 2mm magnets I recently ordered, as they haven’t shown up yet. Right now I’m 42/58 painted/purchased, so am a bit behind on my paint more then I buy goal. If I don’t buy anything else, I might be able to pull it off by the end of the year. However there are a number of things I’d like to purchase. Mostly for growing the Deathwatch I’m putting together. Box of aggressors and a 10 man reiver box (split between DW/Ultras) are the short list. Some scout bikes are also high on the covet list. Plus the temptation of new shinies.

I like the concept of the gang/skirmish/team games, but don’t make it to the FLGS often enough to really warrant picking them up. Going to try to get The Boy into Kill Team though, so we’ll see where that goes.

I didn't buy much 40k stuff this year, unless necromunda counts as that is 40ks setting. If this had been the year of sisters of battle my wallet would be in serious trouble. Because GW let me know sisters are coming I have held off on anything 40k until they release. I'm currently trying to resist nightvault and all the other new hotness of the month things gw has been throwing at the wall.

This was the edition that made me go all in on new stuff. I admit I have a bad habit of buying second hand, and fading interest later.


And I don't really mind buying books. Or tossing/trading them when they're outdated.

Mostly been buying the boxes that GW has been releasing this year. I have a backlog of:

Forgebane
Adeptus Titanicus
Tooth and Claw
Kill Team
Rogue Tradier

...and I imagine I will be buying Necromunda and maybe Middle Earth box before the year is over.

Then Daughters of Khaine got me fully into AoS so I bought about 500 dollars worth of DoK that I am currently painting.

I just came back to the game this year and decided to start fresh so GW got me for 2 boxes of know no fear, 2 plagueburst crawlers, 3 blight haulers, a daemon prince, a box of nurglings, DG codex, box of mkiii marines, 2 packs of chaos back packs and 3 raiders over the last ~3 months. Things should definitely be slowing down now that I've got something usable but I'm under no delusion that I won't be spending more soon.
