Now that FW have gotten rid of them, its about time they brought out plastic ones, or are they planning to. For all the armies they have released its ridiculous they haven't released renegades.

Yes, but none of this dull "it's just Astra Militarum with a spooky overcoat" stuff. Take a page out of the GSC notebook and give them a "that regular civilian's got a knife!" kind of vibe.

I can imagine a cross between how cultests look with Imperial guard tattered uniforms or their own (would actually be better) gasmasks a plenty, the of WW1 gasmask look would be cool, maybe with a few mutations.

Sisters first.
I'd also rather prioritize rules first, insofar as something like the Brood Brothers rule GSC have, but for Chaos.
At the moment, you can still convert them up, and they'd look fine, but I certainly wouldn't object to a full scale release down the line.

That\s downplaying chaos a bit though. They have professional armies as well and of course IG regiments also jump.

Sisters are a given though, its a matter of when not if in their case.

Yup, their armies are just as competent as Imperial guard, just more spikey in nature lol

The "civilian with a knife!" role should be/is filled by the Cultists. They do need a better kit too.
Renegades fulfilling the role of things like the Blood Pact or Sons of Sek would be great.

They're saying renegades don't need to represent civilians, because that's covered by cultists already. They're AGREEING with you.

So FW stopped making them? That's sad. I still have some that I never finished.
I support the idea of a full Renegade army. They could use the GSC as a base, allowing the option for IG units to be included. Hell, you could go a step further and allow Admech units too, for Dark Mechanicum forces.

There's already several options on the table if you want to run Traitor Guard, modelling-wise, so yeah I would support focusing on workers and 'civilian' rabble if there was a new plastic Renegades box.
Of course that's what the Cultists box currently is, only monopose and poo.

Bit of both for me.
The Chaos Forgeworld book had an awesome, if daunting list to choose from. Everything from Abhuman equivalents, Renegade Guard, to Pointy Sticked Civvies.
Something like that would be ideal, albeit somewhat stripped down ( FW one was spoiling with choice!)

As has been mentioned: I'm agreeing with you.
Did you actually read what I wrote, or who you replied to? Arachnofiend (who you replied to) said about a "civilian with a knife", and I said that the role was already filled by Cultists.
It really wasn't that hard to see, and at the very least, there's no indication that I disagreed with you.

Crimson pak already available at mad robot miniatures, plenty of great 3rd party conversion bits to choose from. The chaos cultists are great, even though mono posed, you can do subtle conversions to differentiate them. The cultists have 2 different sgt, 2 heavies, 8 regulars. You just need some imagination to make it happen.

What's the niche for renegades?
Back in the day, the Lost and the Damned list was soup before soup was a thing, letting you combine Space Marines, traitor Guardsmen, hordes of mutants, and tanks. Now you can get nearly all of those through the regular Chaos list (CSM, Cultists, Poxwalkers), so all it would be adding is vehicles.
The FW Renegades & Heretics list originally was very thematic, with lots of access to on-map defensive structures and off-map artillery support. It was essentially a flavor of Imperial Guard that lost elite infantry and mobility and got airstrikes and pillboxes instead. Over the editions, it changed gradually, until come 8th edition the R&H list is a mediocre list that amounts to poor-man's Imperial Guard.
The GSC list already has a lot of insurgent flavor, and captures the idea of a motley group of fighters with repurposed civilian equipment fighting guerrilla battles.
So where does all that leave renegade Guard? I love the FW Renegade Militia models and I'd really like to see GW make renegades a proper faction, I just don't see where exactly they can go besides 'Imperial Guard, but with more spikes'. If they're going to make renegades, they need to have a niche besides just giving CSM armies access to Guard toys.

A potential niche is something the FW groups did with both renegades (I think) and their 30k militia, with different flavours of renegades. You could have a conscript-like horde, with genetic modification, or elite, well drilled guard.
If you take the basic guard list, but cut out all the faction stuff (so everything uses a <Renegades> keyword - from this you could also actually limit what units can have the <Renegades> keyword), you can limit and add units.
Things like Commissars and Primaris/Wyrdvane psykers could be removed, but Junior Officers and Senior Officers can take optional upgrades to have Commissar and Pysker attributes.
Fundamentally, a hordey shooty addition to Chaos. Cultists don't fix this, because they're not shooty enough alone. Poxwalkers don't have guns.

Renegades can be far more than just spiky Imperial Guard. They probably have the greatest potential for variety in the whole game. They could be almost anything.
They can be traitor guard yes. They could also be traitor admech, renegade knight houses, a witches coven, a mutant cult, chaos worshiping xenos (these should be featured more often imo), anything you could think of.
