I'm playing a friendly, casually competitive game at my LGS in a new area. It's my third game I'm playing there, against a new opponent. According to himself and the other people in the shop, he's at the more competitive end of their meta. I normally play in tournaments or tournament practices so wanted an idea if this list is too harsh, or if I've toned it down enough. He'll be playing pure Deathguard with at least some Blight Drones and Plague Crawlers, so his list isn't weak, but isn't a good tourney list either.

so youre 'playing for fun', but it looks like youre just taking the standard sort of options, which isnt 'fun', but just playing the same old way you probably normally play, just slightly less so.

if its for fun, try some fun things, like taking obsidian rose kabal, webwaying in 20 warriors with 4 blasters and an archon with a blaster on his front line, blow something up, lure him into decimating (but not killing) the squad with the expectation they'll fail morale, then when they do, drop the strat that enables you to fire the blasters again, and if they kill the target, stay on the board to fire yet again.

or throw some first turn strikes at them with ravagers, have a bunch of your army in reserve with scourges and mandrakes, with a fat ball of wracks marching up the middle, respawning any wrack squads that draw fire.

tl;dr your list looks boring and standard and not 'fun' at all.
