Aight, so i just looked into my bitz box for the first time in years and i found some really cool stuff. my first space marine captain a undercoated warplock engineer, random guns and helmets in various stages of assemble stuff along those lines and was wondering if any of you guys on the forum have any hidden minis or forgotten minis stuffed away anywhere that need painting or a little bit of love to bring them back into the spotlight.

When i was a child and had those minis my family had little to no money so the only minis i could get were broken ones people didn't want anymore or the occasional xmass present. As a result i had to get creative with them. conversions, alt paintjobs kit bashing was all learned by lack of resources. Now i have a stable source of income i just buy what i want to fit army lists or what i think is cool instead of trying to make it with the limited models i have. seeing these minis made me realize how much i miss not having too many models or not enough paints only having one brush for 4 years that was only kept together out of love and frequent maintenance , mixing and matching just to make a army to play with friends and hopefully beat them.
I miss that. Dont get me wrong, i love being able to go out and buy 3 lemans but it just feels like some of the magic is gone you know what i mean?

I feel like i'm just rambling and have gone off topic now so imma stop the post here.
Terribly sorry.

When I started (as an 18 year old) playing 40k - because 40k didn't exist much before I turned 18 (It came out between my 18th and 19th birthdays) I had a crap paying job and not a lot of spare $$ to spare on gaming stuff.

So I got creative. A box of rhinos with some plasticard could yield up to 6 rhinos with a little work.
A bit later on, I discovered the 2nd hand tables at some of our larger conventions, and used that to add stuff to my gaming pile.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

I'm sure the right group could have a ton of fun doing a tournament where you were limited both by the normal rules and a second hand spending limit - or a weekend event where day one was a big swap meet with everyone's old random stuff and day two was games. I still get way more pleasure out of cleverly combining bits than buying the perfect model off the shelf.
