This recent FAQ was a pretty big hit to Harlequins with the changes to fly and flip belts. But Harlequins are my main/favorite army, and I genuinely feel like they can still be competitive, so I spent a good amount of time trying to figure out ways to adapt to the changes. Player of the Light warlord trait is hugely beneficial now allowing re-roll charges, especially with The Scintillant Veil relic increasing the aura to 9". I feel like troupes are going to be advancing a lot more now to get in better position so I removed the fusion pistols and spent anti-vehicle/anti-monster points on other units. I feel like fusion pistols are only competitive on Troupes in a Soaring Spite detachment.

I like having a bit of leadership shenanigans with the hemlock, horrify, shards of light, and silent shroud masque traits, but I don't want to rely on it considering how many armies are immune to it. The main benefit to the Silent Shroud masque is the Silken Knife strategem. As for the Aeldari air wing detachment, I like them as Iyanden. I know most people would disagree in any non-Alaitoc air wing detachment in a competitive list, but the way I see it is that their sole purpose is to do damage. Iyanden effectively allows them to do more damage throughout the game with less degrading statlines, and if the enemy wants to target flyers instead of the harlequins that's fine because flyers don't score objectives and those are shots not directed at units that do.

Would love to hear your thoughts!

Souring spite (particularly for fusion pistols) is very useful in a world where Harlies have nowadays restricted fly.

@wuestenfux no doubt! I agree soaring spite is great, just really not my style. Luckily, Harlequins can be competitive a number of different ways and I believe Silent Shroud is a good alternative.

Given you are playing heavy on LD, go big or go home.

Squeeze in a Vanguard of Midnight Sorrow, 1 Troupe Master with 3 Death Jesters and arm one of them with Curtainfall. It allows you to stack an addtional -2 LD and Mortal Wounds with the Shriker Rounds and the -3 AP base on the relic WILL make quite a difference vs. the usual AP 0 of the DJs.
