Is it me, or does the Astraeus have surprising resemblance to the main spaceship from gundam seed?

Not really no. If anything you could say its a bite on a halo scorpion design but with more floaty bits.   or it was inspired by the Caestus assault ramp. but even then double tracks/ double hull design is pretty common in scifi.

Man, nostalgia blast there. Had that kit as a kid and even then I couldn't figure out why this unaerodynamic spaceship needed landing skis.

If it's anything from Gundam at all it's the silhouette of the Pegasus Class or its meaty descendants, which the Archangel class is an attempt to reimagine.
In particular, it reminds me a lot of the Blanc Rival.
