I just installed Minecraft and I keep getting the out of memory error. I've got a Windows XP with the latest Java (not sure if it's 32 or 64 bit) and have tried everything in the FAQ, but it still crashes after about 20 seconds of playing. Any help?

If you've got XP, then it's probably 32-bit. XP 64-bit is something of a rarity. However, I have just spotted a rather critical typo in the FAQ, it should read:
Go to Start - Control Panel - Java (type Java in the search box if you can't see it)
In the dialog that opens, choose the Java tab.
In the "Java Runtime Environment Settings" section, click View...
In the Runtime Parameters box, enter:
-Xms 300m -Xmx 300m (make sure to keep the uppercase and lowercase the same)
(I had missed out the "m" on the end of 300). Give that a try. Sorry for the typo, it has been corrected.
Still not working. Occasionally it'll quit as soon as it starts saying that Java has experienced a fatal error in addition to crashing 30 seconds in to each game.

GUYS! In minecraft there is now a one in a thousand chance that your world after a periosd of time will have an airship crash! Im serchink wiki for details but its happended to about 5 people.

Could you find some proof to back up such a claim?
The Syndicate Project (Minecraft Project) has the discovery recorded. At first it seemed to be rather Shadow of Israphael, but this seems to corroborate it.
GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Just found the video.
And, I'm still extremely skeptical about it.

bs.
It isn't even possible for the chunks to change like that after generation without player interaction...

Im not sure ok! Im a skeptical as all of you. im looking for the page that says its true but im having trouble, maybe it was fabricated but i have heard there is proof and i am searching. This has happened to multiple people but it could just be an elaborate scheme though.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Ok turns out it is a scheme and the people at fireuk built it for him! back to your lives now.

Well we have pictures to go with an accurate reproduction of him. Though I want the cactus to stay as well.
Edit: Just had a thought while adding some more signs to the nether. Will we be having a sort of New Year's party? Like the Halloween one it doesn't need to be on the day but rather a more convenient one for everyone.
Also I don't ask for much, but if a portal is built in mid air put blocks under it. If it glitches you can be left falling almost indefinitely, mostly ending by ghast or other mob interrupting. It seems to happen as it sometimes doesn't recognise the portal as blocks while you warp in. So the slightest bit of lag can cause extreme rubberbanding.

I might just make a pilgrim skin to visit clucky's resting place, and offer eggs and maybe sacrifice the odd virgin or two.

Hi, this is a message to Silverlegion whoever that is.
I am sorry about causing damage to your pyramid as I was on it and admiring your work in the middle of the night. (that was stupid of me) I should have known better, but a creeper got up behind me and killed me, taking a whole chunk of the top of your pyramid with me. Thankfully, I found every piece of glowstone that was blown out and replaced them in their proper place. I also repaired the whole of the top of your pyramid but had no torches on me at that time. I'm going to have to owe you one. Again, I'm sorry.
Sincerely LumenPraebeo

I will forever remain humble because I know I could have less.
I will always be grateful because I remember I've had less.
It's my understanding that no one on the server has a silk touch pick, or at least I haven't heard of it.
So I'm making the following offer: I will buy experience (in 22 level increments) for 2 diamonds (or some negotiated amount of Iron or other resources).
Here's how it works.
- You send me a message (here or in MC) that you have experience to trade.
- I give you a diamond pick that you enchant at my enchanting table.
- You enchant the pick and give it back to me.
- I give you two diamonds.
- You get: +2 diamonds. I get an enchantment.
I figure this will create an incentive to finally get a silk touch pickaxe so we can begin the mooshroomification of the Nether.
corpsesarefun wrote:Have you got a maximum power table biccat?
Yup.
Level 22 is the most xp-efficient level for getting silk touch on a diamond pick. But if someone wants to trade a level 50 enchantment (most resource-efficient), I'd be willing to negotiate.
