So I'm looking for some feed back on a list idea. I have a BA/Guard/IK list that I run for comp/semi-comp play, and am looking to build out a pure BA list for a more fun list. I'm also fully aware that this list would probably benefit more from some other chapter tactic, but this is more for fun and the BA aesthetic. that said I'm open to all suggestions the only things I would like to keep in the list are the scout bike / ancient, and the leviathan dread everything else is on the table.
Brigade: Blood Angels 2000 pts
HQ:
- Captain: Hammer, Shield, Relic: Wings, Death Visions
- Captain: Relic: Hammer, Shield, J. Pack, Death Visions
- Mephiston; Wings, Rage, Quickening
Troops:
- 6x 5-man Scout squads: S.Bolter on Sergeants
Elite:
- Company Ancient: J. Pack, Relic Banner
- Death Company x10: Boltgun, Sword, J. Pack
- Death Company x5: 5x Hammers, J. Pack
Fast:
- 3x 3-man Scout Bikes: S. Bolter on Sergeants
Heavy:
- Devastators x5: Cherub, 1x H. Bolter, 1x Missile Launcher
- Contemptor Mortis: 2x Twin H. Bolters
- Leviathan: 2x Storm Cannon, 3x Hunter-killer
So, 15 CP to start, and -5 pregame for relics/death visions. CP’s will be an issue and it may be benificial to drop the relic hammer so that I start at 12. Regardless I expect I’ll be empty by T2 / early T3
The intent is pretty clean use the scouts to board control and lay down as much bolter fire as possible. The ancient with the 5+++ banner will help to preserve the scout bikes as best they can. The sword bolter DC will either be starting on the field to forlorn fury or t2 striking with the 3d6 Depending on terrain, and my opponents deployment. The devs are primarily there to fill the bragade, but also bring the bolter and missle for the potential to mortal wound double tap with the cherub. Lots of chaff clearing to hopfully T1, 2 clear any obstructions then let the DC with hammers and the Char do the heavy lifting. any thoughts would be appreciated.

I like the list, but im not sure if running 30 scouts is worth the points tax. I suggest twin autocannons on the contemptor mortis dread. If you run DC lemartes is a must. Adding PCs to your dev squad would be a good idea. The company ancient will have a hard time keeping up with the bikes, they move 16". I would drop the relic hammer, its not worth the additional 2 CP.

The scouts are a tough thing to work around other troop options are expensive and Make it hard to build out the brigade.
I like the idea of lemartes, dropping the second cap with relic hammer for him is a 1:1 point switch and nets me +3CP and solid buffs for the DC.
I don’t see the ancient getting out paced really. Advancing each turn means he’ll avg 14”-16”. That should be enough to maintain the bubble for 1-2 turns which is all I expect I’d get out of them anyways.
I’ll have to try the build out with a battalion, vanguard, outrider to cut come wasted troops cost to add more heavy weapons. The drop from 15 to 10 CP to start is a tough pill to swallow though.

is that a 5 man death company unit all with hammers? where are your ablative wounds? you've put 10 bolter marines in front of a 4 point power sword so it dies last, but gonna let expensive hammer wielding psychos absorb shots for a smaller unit from the get go? poor move, eith transfer 5 bolter marines to the hammer unit, combine the 2 units, or better yet just swap 3 boltgun marines from squad 1 for 3 hammers from squad 2. now both hit like bricks and protect their investments.

Can’t put the squads together without breaking the brigade.
I didn’t put any ablative wound because realistically they’re nearly pointless. In my experience DC only survive for one turn, that being the one they drop. My opp next shooting phase they should be dead, that’s just the nature of marines. So my thought process is for them to be there drop and kill the biggest most expensive thing on the field.
Splitting the hammers up may not be a bad idea but will reduce the chaff clearing power and increase the cost of the squad the intend to start on the table, as well as reduce the punch of my reserve drop to delete big things like a knight. I’d have to play test it to see how it plays, but that may be the way to bring them both a bit more utility.

Looks like a fun list! You can drop the relic banner as it doesn't stack with Black Rage unfortunately.
Consider the Sang Ancient as he's pretty reasonable for his points and his banner lets you reroll wounds of 1. So combined with lemartes you'd have reroll all hits, then reroll wounds of 1. Against T3 you're hitting @ 88%, then wounding at 97%. Against T4 you're wounding at 78% (both assuming Red Thirst active. So with 50 attacks on the charge (buffed with mephy) against a unit of marines you're forcing 34 saves, meaning 11-12 damage on average. Against guard you're forcing 42 saves. Not to mention if he's near your smash captain(s).
30 scouts is the way to go, although without needing to spend CP on the relic, you could go for double battalion, meaning you'd have more flex in your elites / FA / Heavy support while still starting with 13 CP. Then go for 2x smash capt + meph + lemartes and drop the scout bikers or heavy support. You'd still start with 10 (-2 for Death Visions & -1 for additional relic hammer or Veritas Vitae).
How are you planning to run them? 3x CC and 3x bolters?
