I can almost hear the snapping leathery crack of his wings and the thick rustle of grime caked death shrouds draped as a cloak around his massive armoured form. Mortarion comes forth once again to spread death and sickness across the worlds held by the imperium, his voice calling his followers into battle, the baritone sound emanating from his vox reminiscent of bubbles of gas pushing their way through thick mucus and effluent to burst like rapid pops across a foul smelling swamp....... some would say it sounded like laughter, none would live to tell their tale.

Superb. In fact I'd say the very first Mortarion that I've liked...since its release. It is a decent model often ruined by crap paintjobs or colour-selections. This is a fantastic colour palette for the model.

Thanks guys, I am glad you like him in my style I personally could see the potential to make him look more like the old style gritty and violent rather than the cartoon look they are bringing in lately. I didn't use the nurglings and beefed up the base a bit before trying to stay true to his legion colours which was honestly the exact opposite of my original plan he was going to be in dark bronze armour with lots of verdigris and all the extraneous metals would be rusted for contrast.

anyway, I hope he looks Mortarion and Nurgly enough still

Sweet Mary, that thing is gorgeous. I love the limited palette choice. Too many mortys with rainbow colors. The base is a great, subdued contrast to all the red up on the wings. Just amazing all around. Great job, Damo!

Thanks guys for the positive feedback! I do enjoy Nurgle painting, not because it's easy but because it lets me start really roughly and then pick out the parts to focus the eye and then dirty up the rest and I quite enjoy the process :-)
