Local group has a tourney coming up next year, doubles with random players each round and 750pts- partol, batallion or brigade only
Also to speed things up and for a change, deployment will be 1 whole army at a time ,so player 1 going first deploys whole force, opposing player deploys, Player 1's team mate deploys, last player sets up.
Only hammer and anvil or dawn of war, and you get 1 dice roll for the team to steal initative on a 6.
We get to place objectives, so plan is to put 2 or all 3 right on 6" apart and preferably around some cover and drop the infantry in a blob on it with Brother Corbulo and the bannerman.
Chaplin and DC are more of a scalpel- keep them in reserves to try and snipe a backfield objective or counter charge if something is pressuring our objectives.
1 pt end of each turn for each objective held, slay the warlord and linebreaker. I've never used Brother Corbulo before, but i figured with the standard of sacrifice relic and intercessors could be vaule/annoying for them

Thanks for any feedback, I was leaning towards a bigger DC alpha strike but i think the versitility of this list might win out. Also thought of dropping the DC and Chaplin for a bare bones Captin
and trying to drop some points to get a dread with auto cannon. Never played a sit back and shoot BA army before so it feels a bit odd

You have very little anti vehicle. Only one RL is like nothing. I dont think the scouts are worth the points. I would replace them with a 5 model intercessor unit and remove a model from the other intercessor squads. Replace the chaplain with lemartes, he is a must if you run DC. Equip your DC with powerfists or thunder hammers as anti vehicle.

Hey Dude,
p5freak is right, you haven't got much in the way of anti-tank.
to put it in perspective; my 750pts list of Ultramarines is
Captain
Lieutenant
3 5 man Tactical Squads with Combiplas and Plasmagun
5 man Devastator squad w 3 Lascannons
3 Assault Cannon Razorbacks
Could you deal with 3 transports before this list dealt with the scouts? I fear it might not.
I know thats a lot of armour for 750pts games, but mechanised forces protecting troops aren't rare at this points level, and I wouldn't hesitate to bring a dreadnought or 2 in an alternate build
To be honest; nothing in your list scares me, and I think thats the underlying problem.
my suggestions would be: Drop the Death Company or give them jump packs. 160pts for a bunch of chainswords is underwhelming considering the Devastator squad you could build for the same points. (65 base + 100pts of guns such as 4 lascannons or 4 missile launchers is only 5 points more expensive.
Or my favourite, 3 lascannons and a heavy bolter for the hellfire shells strategem is cheaper still at 150pts.
what's the ancient for? you're paying a lot there for a could extra auto-bolt rifle shots on death.
You're also paying too much for troops with no versatility. sure they're durable, but they shine in primaris armies because they clear chaff for hellblasters, who when supported with the banner, are worth an extra 1/2 overcharged plasma rounds
113pts for Intercessors, and 111 for the scouts... Do you feel like you're getting 337pts woth of threats? My aforementioned Tactical Squads come in at 93pts, and while they only bring half wounds and slightly shorter range, can threaten most targets with their double Plasma loadout: on the overcharge in rapidfire range, thats 4 S8 AP-3 D2 shots. or normally a pair of S7 AP-3 D1 shots at 24" reach.
edit: I'd neglected to notice Corbulo is an Apocatahry/Sang Priest, i'm pretty much just giving generic marines 750pts advice... but while this makes your intercessors hella durable, they're still slow, and only intercessors.

3 lascannons is a bad choice for a dev squad. You want ML, HB, LC, PC, a cherub, and some more marines as ablative wounds, if you can afford them. The cherub can reload flakk missile and hellfire shells for 2D3 MW.

Thanks for the feedback guys, It's why i'm here. I'm trying to get better at list building and a bit stuck in the BA=DC mindset
I'm used to bringing fluffy lists and having fun rather then trying to push the BA into competition mode, however after some feedback......
BA Batallion- 8 CP
HQ
Captin- JP (angels wing?) TH and SS
Brother Corbulo
Troops
3x Intercessor squad with grenade launcher
Elites
Company ancient with poweraxe and standard of sacrifice
Heavy support
Predator with autocannon, twin lascannon and hunter missile
Comes to 750 exactly. Brother corbulo's red grail gives +1 str and on a 6 you get an extra attack (cannot generate more attacks) and he has a free re-roll each turn so more chance to bring back a trooper
The standard relic gives the infantry a 5+ feel no pain, the plan would be to either park on an objective blob and make them come to us. hopefully push out into rapid fire range then charge
Keep the Predator close to Captin for those hit re-rolls turn 1 (and 2 if its wounded to make the most of shooting) or would a dev squad be a better match? pure infantry blob so everyone has the 5+ FNP and on a 4+ fire again
Captin would start on the board with the blob for re-rolls and depending on how the game goes he can use some CP to deepstrike and charge a back field tank etc.
I've never played smaller games and the local club is getting a lot more new players in, I think I'll like the shorter games but just not used to cherry picking synergies (and never used either of these HQ's, test game soon hopefully)
EDIT: I had Gabriel seth of the flesh tearers chapter as a hq instead of the Capt. but I lose the rest of my relic choices right? probably getting cut from the list. The deny overwatch charge re-rolling and thunder hammer Capt.
is a much better scalpel and the standard bearer can be my warlord to park safely in the squads

Replace the predator with a dev squad. They are cheaper, better as anti vehicle, and protected by the ancient, and can be resurrected by corbulo as well. If you dont want to use a dev squad go with a twin lascannon razorback. Its much cheaper. You can almost get two twin lascannon razorbacks for the price of a predator with twin LC sponsons and HKM.

Agreed on the Devs>Pred
p5freak I wasn't advising my loadout specifically mate, that's just what I use as it's what I've got painted for now... it was more the point of the level of anti-armour firepower you may want at this level.
Can someone please explain why everyone and their grandma is pushing the flakk missile strat? as I understood it it only works on targets with FLY??

Lots of units have the FLY keyword. Its not only units with the flyer battlefield role. With the sarges signum you can compensate for -1 to hit, and still hit on 2+, for both rolls.
