I've wondered about getting the tellyport blasta. However, reading the codex it reads "Roll a d6, if the roll is greater than wound characteristic, it is slain." While my understanding from reading 1d4chan, made me believe it was greater than current wounds.

Has this been F.A.Q.'d at any time or is 1d4chan plain wrong?

Thanks.

Wounds Characteristic is what is printed on the Datasheet. It doesn't need to be FAQed because it's clear. Even if you decide to ignore the RaW and go for a RaI argument, if it was "current" wounds then when you wound a Hive Tyrant below 10 wounds you could no longer shoot it unless it was the closest unit.

Don't ever take rules advice from 1D4chan, they intentionally put incorrect information to screw with people.

If you want even more evidence, the original wording for the Chapter Approved 2017 Character rule said "less than 10 wounds", which caused the aforementioned shrinking Hive Tyrant. They errata'd it to say "a Wounds characteristic of less than 10".
