Ok, it's been a while, and I was looking over the latest faq and saw the new Battle Brother's Rule for matched play.


I searched before posting this btw if this has come up before.


RAW does this mean that Cypher, the Fallen, and anything Euclidean Starstriders are banned from matched play? Because some of these have a very small number of keywords that are either not shared by other minis, or even among their own factions, or are on the banned list to prevent soup.

Battle brothers just applies for keywords in a detachment, not your army. So you can still include Cypher and the Fallen in either an Imperial or Chaos army, though you'll need to just through a few extra hoops (potentially) to do so.

The worst part is that I thought I found a way for the Starstriders to actually work as written, by using FW Elysians, but no, that doesn't work either. Not enough HQ and Troop choices since Nitch is limited to one per army.

Patrols only need 1HQ. But Yarium has it spot on, you just have to go though a lot of hoops now.

Im running the starstriders at a gt this weekend its perfectly viable you have 2 detatchment options

1) patrol you must take vhane and nitches squad the other 3 units are optional

2) auxilary support note without vhane you don't get access to the strategems

Mix with any other imperial detatchments

Patrol did not occur to me. Thanks!
