So I have started on my blood angels showcase and I've chosen to begin this quest with the company captain.

I have a dilemma on my hands as it were with the shoulder pads, I know that Sgts and squad leaders have black with a red trim and regulars have red with a black trim


My problem is with the captain, he is built using the space marine commander sprue so no fancy nipple armor but I added some spare winged shoulder pads from the tac squad box

Over the years I have seen 3 colours red, yellow and black and now I have know idea

I thought captain's used their own heraldry rather than following any specific colour scheme. Alternatively he might use the company colour?

Split field red/yellow, black wing and red drop.

I thought Blood angels marked their squad role by the colour of their helmet and knee pad colour and icons and company marking the right (or left I always get it wrong) shoulder pad?

The coloured helmets are for force organisiation

Looking in the angels of death codex at captain tycho, he had red pad with black trim, so as I'm going to leave them red and do the top half trim black

Blood Angel helmet colours denote battlefield role. That's why Blood Angels Aggressors wear the blue 'Devastator' helmets instead of the gold 'Veteran' helmets even though Aggressors are an Elites choice.
