So, I've been mulling over what to make next for my rebel grots, and whilst perusing the AM codex I came across crusaders, and they really caught my fancy.

However, the more I think about how to model them, the more conflicted I am about which route to take.

To summarise them, they're men Grots with power swords and a 3++ (stormshield). They can also deny the witch, and perform phases out of phase (move, shoot, fight).

So, my initial thought was to create a unit of grot Yodas, with lightsabres, cloaks and the force to defend them / deny the witch, in a variety of poses (likely mid-combat with necrons, as the closest comparison to droids).

My other thought is to have them more orky, with powa generata's on their backs to shield them and crude choppy weapons with various wires and gubbinz to make them power-choppas.

So, I'm swinging between these two, and may yet make both, but which do you guys think I should do first? and do star-wars references have a place in the 40k universe?
