Finally completed a mini! First 'completely' finished mini in over 4 years. Several more are very close behind.

I’m pretty pleased with this overall, but there are a few places I could do more and/or better. For example;

- The base was a little rushed and isn’t quite as bright/contrasted as I had originally envisaged. I had also planned for a few additional details, like hazard stripes, puddles etc.
- The weathering could be a little more neat/tidy on the marine.
- I think the chainsword gore doesn’t quite work.
- The gold could have a little more shade/transition and could be a little neater.

I'd be very interested in hearing your thoughts, critique is most welcome.

Looks great, job well done. The helmet in particular. Is it the blue in the chainsword not doing it for you? I'd go a different colour personally.

Cheers! I think if the chainsword went a different colour, the pistol would need to match, allowing for balance. This would add more colour than I’m looking for. As this is just one of a team (5 marines 5 cultists), I’m trying to keep things relatively simple so they all look balanced when lined up together.

It’s the gore on the chainsword that I’m no super happy with, I think it’s the red, or maybe it needs a little glaze to add another layer and a little extra softness?

I think the pistol and the Chainsword being blue are the only issues with this model. The execution is amazing but I think the weapons get lost matching the armour as they do. You could go with a dark colour like a nearly black dark grey then it wouldn’t be too colourful but might frame either side of the model with the base. If not I’d consider doing the chest Aquila gold to break up the big field of blue.

I’m sure what ever you do it’ll be done very well and look brilliant.

I have to agree with andykp. Definitely well executed but the color matching the armor gives it a certain unfinished quality despite the detail. Looks great otherwise. Great job.
