Subject: Can models on bikes have two one-handed weapons?
|

Pretty straight forward question. Can any model on a bike take a pistol and close combat weapon? Is there any way for a bike to get +1 attack for two close combat weapons? If you could tell me where to find the actual rule, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

They can have them, but they still don't get the extra attack.
It would be a fun Ork upgrade though "bionik biker armz"

Any rule reference to back that up?

Yes, any model with two one-handed weapons gets +1 attack unles the special rules for that model prevent it.
Bikes (at least marine ones) do not include a rule to prevent this. Hence, bikes get the bonus just like everyone else.
The rule in question is simply the "two one-handed weapons rule" in the BGB under "close combat".

As previously stated, you are incorrect.

Certain bikes work with a 2nd CCW, others don't. I don't have codecies at work so I'm unable to give specifics right now.

"The last known instance of common sense happened at a GT. A player tried to use the 'common sense' argument vs. Mauleed to justify his turbo-boosted bikes getting a saving throw vs. Psycannons. The player's resulting psychic death scream erased common sense from the minds of 40k players everywhere. " - Ozymandias |

Damn, you are right... I just double checked and there is no reason that I can find (other than common sense which we will leave out) that they can not have a 2nd weapon.

Again common sense makes a jackass out of someone. You're probably thinking of V3, where this was a rule.

For the millionth time:
Currently only Dark Eldar and Chaos Space Marines have restrictions on how many CC weapons they can use.

The difference between 3 and 4 p.fist attacks on the charge is pretty big (33%) when talking about a total of 7 or 8 attacks from a 3 model squad. It would often mean the difference between a living librarian in termie armor and a dead one.
