I wanted to give Ghaz a shot in the new Codex, and Skar Boyz, so the first Battalion is built around those two Units. Got a couple Grot Units for Screening, and a Banner Nob for that +1 WS. These are my footsloggers, so gotta be careful not to get them killed on the way over. All three Weirdboyz will be going with the sloggers, for that +3.

Bad Moonz is all about shooting. Normally, I'd have more Lootas, but I wanted to be able to throw my TBs in a Trukk, for movement and safety.

Zhad and the Koptas are there to provide T1 pressure and keep folks from focusing in on the Bad Moonz shooters or the footsloggers. Dreddz will be Tellyporting in on T2, using Evil Sunz for that more reliable charge.

Made the Mek my Warlord for that sweet 4++/5+++, making it highly durable. Even if he'll be hanging back with the Gunz to keep them up.

Any ideas on improvements or "must have" units I missed? Just looking at it, my T1 potential ain't real great, but is there anything else I missed?

Was going to say, the shokk mek is going to be really hard to get to, with big guns and gretchin walls in front of him. I think the warlord traits and relic are wasted on him.

I'd do ghazzy as warlord, just because -4 AP PK's for both ghazzy and zhardsnark is pretty sweet. Swap the nobs slugga for a second choppa.

I'd drop the lootas and take more smash guns. For lootas to work well, you really need to invest in them. Smash guns will be far more effective and won't require any investment in cp.

Ghaz isn\t all that good alas. Couple regular warbosses would be generally better and allow you also to bolster lootas. Bad moon lootas are one of the best units in ork codex.

Not fan of that trukk. 31.5" range is plenty enough and grot screen can be used for safety. You need grots there anyway as 1 trukk dies quickly and without grot screen either enemy doesn't want them dead or they are dead. And you can't use strategems inside the tank bustas which especially seeing you don't have big loota unit to use strategems means your tank bustas are at best 50% of what they would be on foot. Or even worse than that...

If you are going to do lootas, do 15 and 10 and mob them up into a unit of 25. Traktor kannons are pretty lackluster vs smasha guns, unless you encounter -2's to hit. Try 3 and 1 (3 smasha 1 traktor).

I figured between the TBs, Dreddz, and Lootaz, I had a fair amount of Ground Vehicle coverage, so I includes the Traktors to handle Fliers.

I actually don't like Mobbing Up my Lootas, because it makes them a prime target for my opponent. With two 10 model Units, they gotta split their shots to take em both out. And if one rolls poorly for shots, I got another who can do better.

Mathhammer wise, the smasha guns are actually better then the traktors until you get to -2. Dakka went nuts figuring out the specifics of it. (lotta data).

The traktors work well as a "finisher" for something flying, so you get it to explode. Seems a 4-2 or 3-1 setup seems to be pretty popular.

Got ya on the lootas! Just keep in mind, only the badmoonz gretchin can be used for grot shielding the lootas.

Yeah, I feel ya on Smashas being better. So cheap too. Like I said, I included a few Traktors just to deal with the Fliers, as I can whittle them down with Lootas and Tankbustas.

And that's why I included 3 units of Blood Moonz Gretchin. The Evil Sunz Grots are mostly just gonna be for holding Objectives and Deepstrike denial. Goff Grots are for screening as they foot slog.

Lootas are good if you invest the CP on them, if you wanna go GOFFS and want to give Skarboyz, endless tide, tellyporta… You Will be using your CP on goffs, and lootas won't do enough damage to make them worth the cost.

In case you don't want to waste the CP in bad moons, take smasha gunz

Shoot Again and rerolling those shot rolls are really nice. With this build, I got 12 CP left over (after Warp'eadz,Skar Boyz, and the Tellyported Dreadz), and I'm not planning to Tellyport the Boyz (they're the footsloggers), so CP should be good, at least until T3. Shouldn't need to spend much on the Goffs after deployment, except for EGT and GS.

Even without CP, Blood Moonz Lootaz are pretty solid, with the reroll on 1s. You get nearly 2 for every Smasha, so even with the worse BS, you're looking at more shots hitting, over time.

Again, not saying Smashas aren't good. If I was building to take down Knights, I'd include as many as I could get ahold of. But the lack of Kulture and Stratagems really hurts their potential.

2 units of lootas makes dealing with 1 super easy though. He fires at one, you use grot screen, he then fires at the other and not only you used grotscreen, possibly not even saving anything worthwhile, and the other unit gets destroyed. So your bad moon grots aren't actually all that valuable...They only protect your 2nd unit after 1st is wiped out. Until that it's more of CP sinker.

Sort of like how to bypass rotate ion shields from knights except even easier...

This is true. I may Mob-Up, but Orkz are already pretty CP starved after the Codex. Granted, I got 12 left after my unit upgrades and Tellyporta, but those can get eaten up quick with shot-rerolls, Shoot Again, Moar Dakka, and EGT.
