Mine has to be painting corrugated tubing or painting black and yellow striped cables. What are your favourite odd things to do?

I hate tidying mold lines, but when you shave the little ridges on the forge world resin models down and it smoothes just right, I like that.

When you apply Agrax to your model and it turns from goofy/comic/bright to an actual miniature. Liquid skill...

Peeling away masking tape after a long session, looking at some incoherent mess of plastic, tape and colour in front of you for hours, then seeing the result. It's an amazing feeling.

Alpharius? Never heard of him.

When your WIP looks like a pile of garbage, but transforms into an impressive model after a few coats of paint. Sweet vindication.

When you use an airbrush for the first. Oh, the speed. The smooth coat of paint.

When you're painting your Farsight army and a trailer for Iron Man 2 comes on the telly and you've suddenly got a spot colour. Sweet serendipity there...

When green stuff gets to that consistency where you can sculpt it without it sticking to your tools, and you can just glide over it.

Yeah, greenstuff sticks to metal like bees to honey. Takes as long scraping it off with a scalpel than the thing you sculpted lol

Mix your GS with milliput for less stickiness.

I only use millput for flat or curved stuff as its far easier for filing.

Dip your tool in a tiny bit of Vaseline (stop giggling!) to stop green stuff sticking to it. Also gives the gs a super smooth finish.

For me its gotta be the drybrush. I am a VERY impatient painter. I also have 2-3 jobs and a kid.. so its all about the fastest results without sacrificing quality as much as I can. Basecoat and shade looks great, but get the exact right amount of paint on the drybrush and picking out those details just makes the model come to life for me!

I love the moment when I apply an Agrax wash to silver and it turns from pretty-boi shine to grungy gunmetal.

When you dry fit two pieces and they fit just right.

The moment you find that little thing that was bugging you about your paint scheme and fix it. Like getting 90% done in a model, hating how it looks, then pick out that one colour or finish that one layer and suddenly you can see how great it'll look finished.

Painting the eye lenses on terminators. It's like putting a soul into them. You can almost hear the space marine quotes in Dawn of war.

For the Lion and Terra!

Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

With finecast you can bypass the washing stage and throw them straight into the bin.

Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.
