The previews of the new Genestealer Cult models have finally inspired me to start an army. Rather than building a unit at a time, like I would a regular army, I want to game out the life cycle of the cult.
To do this, I need to start with a small group of purestrains. They will need to attack humans to create brood brothers, who will then breed the first generation of acolytes. The acolytes breed the neophytes, and then the neophytes breed the magus and additional brood brothers; the fourth generation is a new wave of purestrains. I want to photoblog all the painting and gaming and track the performance of the cult- basically every model is a character model, and they'll evolve over time. I might not start the painting and posting til January to make it a year long project, but I need to start planning it.
Now most GSC's have allied guard for brood brothers, but I want my brood brothers to be represented by Escher and Delaques from both the classic metal and the modern plastic ranges. This poses a bit of a problem: the rules for GSC gangs don't include rules for purestrains.
One option is to use my Necromunda models as "counts as Imperial Guard" in Kill Team instead of Necromunda; once the cult is big enough to be a 40k army, I'll probably have to count as Guard anyway (depending on what the new GSC dex says about Brood Brothers).
So the question is: in all the extended Necromunda rules- all the gang war supplements and such, are there rules for purestrains, for example as a bestiary entry or something? I would prefer to grow the cult with Necromunda if possible, but I can't do that without rules for purestrains.
