With christmas coming up I am looking to net myself something off of forgeworld to add to my space wolves! Never had anything off of forgeworld, and so looking at everything makes not much sense. I want something lore freindly to the wolves whilst also not breaking the bank, nothing over 80 pounds really. This is a odd request I know, but I want something to fit in nicely with my wolves, and be something I can really enjoy painting, and In game.

I was having a look at them, looked very cool. The weapon variety they had was different.. Will have to research that if I pick one up.

Leviathan Dread with dual dakkaguns is always a safe bet. Contemptors not so much rulewise

Yeh I am not sure how people view FW nowadays, I dunno if it is still 'taboo' or if imperial knights have made FW acceptable now.

I love the look of the Sicaran vehicles and the pumped up land raiders. My only concern is being seen as 'cheesy', I play for fun and for cool looking models.

I think the general public no longer view FW as cheesey. There are plenty of cheese models that are plastic.
That being said I looked at the points of a relic Contemptor Dreadnought, whew those get pricey quick. My Hellforged version is 174 with dual butcher cannon and havoc missiles. However with the £80 limit it's going to be hard to find anything as good. My next suggestion would also be Sicaran or Spartan. Can't go wrong with 8x lascannons with steel behemoth.

Instead of going for the FW rules models, you could always go for something that looks cool that you could use as a codex unit. Examples would be Leman Russ, or his two wolves. Some of the older armour marks could be cool to mix into your army or represent wolf guard. Or you could go for a few things like shoulder pads and vehicle doors.

Interesting idea to get russ.. although I am not sure what I could use him as in game, the scale of primarchs is pretty big isnt it? I havent seen them on tabletop to compare, only in WW.

I have been looking at the tanks, they look awesome to be honest. I always find it difficult to be lore friendly with the wolves, as I seem to have the idea that they would not have any sicaran vehicles, I could be way off mind. But the land raiders available do look nice. I may end up just grabbing myself a landraider and the Stormwolf.

It is a shame the wolves haven't got some specific vehicles etc. Such as the new ones brought out for the BAs which look brilliant.

Edit: Ignore my comment about no specific units for wolves. I hadn't payed any attention the heresy stuff, but my biggest warhammer regret is not painting my wolves pre heresy colours.

The grey slayers are brilliant, I am tempted to use them as my wolf guard..

More like not safe, the pay-to-win toy is so obnoxious and shows up in so many lists (especially 'how to break dread stratagems' discussions) that I woulnd't be surprised if it's on top of the list to nerf. People react nowhere near as allergically to Contemptors and besides, they can be taken using native Codex rules if you want to avoid FW for some reason...
