We know the Grey Knight Grand Master In Nemesis Dreadknight is getting a point decrease in CA, the big question is how much, and is it enough?

Currently without any ranged weapons a GMDK clocks in at 225.

He is S6 T6 A5 WS2 BS2 12W 2+/4++
He is Cast 1 Deny 1

For another 50 points you can get some ranged weapons, the best options being
Gatling Psilencer H12 S4 D3DMG
Heavy Psycannon H6 S7 AP-1 2DMG

Weapon costs should go down, that will help more than reducing the base cost

Well, I would play two or three if it gets a viable update.

If its above 100 points he will be trash.

Grey Knights will still be trash tier after you fork out cash to get new points.

Well for a mear psychic power and 2 cp, you can give it a 2++.

Seems pretty good.

I'm sure I'll be dogpiled - but of all the units that need a buff in GK, I'd put the GMDK close to last.

Maybe someone could outline why they think its bad for its points? The shooting is a bit meh I guess - but its got reasonable assault, good save, psychic abilities. I don't see why it should be like say a Riptide level in the shooting phase as well.

I think the thing holding it back is the rest of the GK list.

It's in the same ball park as a hive tyrant. Same wounds and invo

A full decked out hive tyrant is 210 points.
Moves farther - has better psychic- has fearless bubble - real smite - T7 (this is big)
but doesn't shoot as good or hit nearly as hard in CC.
GMDK also reroll's 1's to hit aura.

So IMO the GMDK should be roughly 30-40 points more than a Tyrant.

Currently a fully decked GMDK is 290 - so it should be looking at a 40-50 point drop between gear and base cost.

If we fail to anticipate the unforeseen or expect the unexpected in a universe of infinite possibilities, we may find ourselves at the mercy of anyone or anything that cannot be programmed, categorized or easily referenced.

One of the biggest problems with the GMDK isn't the GMDK itself but its weapon choices. The flamer is nice but nothing too spectacular. The psycannon and psilencer have the problem of being heavy weapons and the GMDK having no way to move and not suffer the -1 to hit penalty. The best thing that could be done for it (and all GKs) is to reclassify both of them from heavy to something that allows movement at no penalty. If you just want to improve the GMDK then just allow it to move and fire heavy weapons with no penalty.
