Playing my first game of 8th tonight with my 2k Deathwatch force and I've made my list with battle scribe but I'm a bit confused about command points.

BS says a battalion gets 5 but the rulebook says 3??? Not sure what's going on there

GW boosted the command points earned by battalion and brigade detachments back in April. The Battlescribe number is correct.

GW has been pretty active with FAQs and point changes via CA. You'll need both to have the most up to date rules.

Or do what I do and blindly hope that Battlescribe is correct and basing it's numbers off of FAQs and CA.

For a pick up game I would be fine with that, but the few times I play in a tournament in a given year, the standards has been if you want to use something you better have the original book/source.
