Hello there! I've got a bit of a problem lately

I'm trying to zenithal highlight a primaris, using 3 primers (black/grey/white)

Problem, I don't think zenithal priming would work on a unassembled mini (as the shadow on a spare helmet is not the same as the one on the mini), and I would like to keep it as unassembled as possible (say: legs/torso, head, weapons/arms, accessories) in order to paint it

So in order to do it, I was looking for an assembly sturdy enough for the airbrush and easy to undo for painting after...
Does anyone has a solution for that ? I was thinking using ducktape, but my tries were for the least unconvincing

thanks!

I think most people (myself included) simply fully assemble before painting.

If you want to zenithal highlight each part, just orientate it upwards as you spray your pre highlights. Pre highlights don't need to be perfect as you should still be highlighting later. But as long as you get them in the ballpark, you'll be fine.

Yeah, you can just zenithal highlight each part. Blue tack/poster putty might work also.

I used to do the black/grey/white zenithal as well. Switched to black, light dust with white at 45, full white from straight above. Same results, one less step. Try it out.
