Going to be new to Sisters player once the box set comes out (ie plastics), and while a final codex may certainly change things, what are the general tier rankings of the SoB units?

58 pages is a bit over what i would consider reasonable to read through.

Honestly most units are great and will fill their roles like they should, the only units that i would say are lower tier/questionable are, Celestain squad, Deathcult Assassins, Crusaders, and Penitent Engines. B.c SOB are so cheap compare to marines we can take many more units and make them viable its mostly wargear on the sisters that are hit or miss, like MM's for examples, no real reason to take them.

Thank you very much, glad to hear its so largely positive so far

So not quite on topic, but i am curious from you more experienced sisters players, do you think the SoB start box is worth while to join in with? and what do you theorize the yet unannounced new models might be (about 70% down the page on this link, https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/11/11/sisters-of-battle-army-set-unboxinggw-homepage-post-1/)?

$45 for a 10 man SM squad i'd say is most equvilant
$50 codex
$50 for 3 inceptors, say roughly equivilant for 5 seaphim
$45 for assault squad, so roughly the same for repentia
$35 for arco flaggelants, can't really justify more for 3 regular man sized models
$55 for 3 killa kans, so ~$18 for the penitent engine
$25 for special character that should be $10-15 but ce la vi
~$268 in stuff for $210, and some extra tiddlybits like "miracle dice (ooh wow GW 12 white 6 sided die... amazing) but the cards are useful

This is another reason foot sisters are better. Every single unit can use an MD in every single phase (if you generate enough MD of course) for a measly 5pts per unit. But vehicles don't get Simulacra, and so you will only be able to MD one vehicle

Depending on the interpretation of MD, it would behove you to spread multimeltas out to many BSS squads for all the re-rolls (assuming they have a simulacrum). This emulates the retributor multi roll interpretation but without the retributor strats.

If the single die interpretation is correct, then outside of stratagems it does make retributors not as good as people were hoping.

I can't imagine people were legit expecting to be all "hoho all my multimeltas wounded, now I shall replace ALL of the damage dice with these four 6s I managed to roll by pure chance!".

Like people are acting like every miracle dice will be a 5 or 6.
They could, but it would take a miracle.

AYYYYY, I see what you did there ^Exalted for dad joke
