I am using the Warlord snow flock, but struggling to apply a sufficient layer.

Anyone had experience with it, and have recommendations?

The secret to snow in general is make a paste of the snow and white glue, then apply that to your base. If you want fluffier snow, you can paint on a layer of white glue, then sprinkle the snow flock on top. For slush, make a paste of water effects and snow flock.

I can’t speak for that particular brand. I’ve used GW’s and Woodland Scenics.

As stated above, make a paste. I mix PVA and water, roughly 50/50, then add flock till I get something spreadable. Smear on the base, then swish while still wet through some more flock for a nice soft layer on top.

I undercoat the base white first, but depending how thick you go, that’s kinda optional. Also, rocks and tufts get glued down before the flock goes on.

We were just talking about snow down here:

YMMV, just how I work it.

As Nevalon suggested, a white base layer really helps.

Because the snow flock is relatively expensive (I use the Woodland Scenics snow), I put down a layer of white filler/spackle as my main snow layer. This means I can lay it on thick and shape it as I like, more easily and cheaper than with the snow flock alone. Then I cover in a thin layer of snow/PVA paste.
To be absolutely sure of total snow coverage and to make it rock hard but still look snowy, I then spray it with 99% alcohol, then cover it in watered down PVA (50/50), and then sprinkle with just the pure snow. Leave it for 24 hours, then turn it upside down and give it a whack and a shake to remove any loose snow, of which there should be very little.

From my point of view Baking Soda mixed with white paint works the best - for me effect is enough, close to melted a bit snow and cost almost nothing ;D

Thanks for info guys, gonna make a paste and then apply the flock afterwards I think.

I made a baking soda, pva and water mixture a long time ago, it eventually turned slightly yellow.. no idea why.
