Hey all, re configuring my list for the chapter approved changes. Looking to build something fun and mid tier, while using as much primaris as I can (have tons of old marines, but trying to update); any constructive criticism is welcomed, thanks!

Comes out to 1973, and I'm not sure how to reorganize to max it out.I have lots of options, so throw out whatever unit substitutions you think would be good. Also feels a little light on board presence. I've had decent results with a similar list in the past. Tank destroyer can hide, pop out and kill a medium tank, and the lascannons on the repulsor and talon can soften other things. I like to castle the two dreads with the captain and some intercessors to screen; they can lay down some decent fire.

Hi. One of the thing I see is that you have few troops between the Hellblasters and the intercessors. Well, yes, and the Inceptors. Depending on the missions, and in the new CA mission troops are very important, you will lack of options to win. You have lots of big guys and few small ones. Once your infantry gets slaughted your rival just need to score and score amd win in points.

I suggest you trow one big guy and replace it with some infantry so that you have more options for score.

Yeah, board presence has been my main concern with this list. The only problem, is that the big guys are my main source of fire power. I've been trying to figure out ways to sub out one of the heavy hitters with utility units, but each time I do it, I fear I'll lack punch. One option I was looking at was subbing the leviathan with a couple units of scouts, and two razorbacks; one with twin las, and one with assault cannons. Would give me more units on the field for sure, but razorbacks and scouts are easy to kill, and the leviathan is very resilient and puts out a lot of firepower. If i remove the repulsor, id have to take out the helblasters too, since they wouldn't have a transport. The other big guy is the sicarian tank, but space marines don't have many mobile anti tank options, and if I took him out, I'd just have to replace him with weaker anti tank units. So it feels like a bit of a quandary.

as an aside, If I take out the 4 hunter killer missiles between the sicaran and the leviathan, I can fit in a scout scout.

Yes, good idea about the Hunter Missile, 6 points and only one use. Personally I don't use them anymore, missed all times.

Another idea is drop the Flyer. You can use those 204 points plus the points from the Missile and the 27 points you had left from your list and fit some units. That would be 255 points if I am not wrong you could use for some units in order to score objectives in the new CA missions. The Stormtalon has a lot of Dakka yes, but missions are missions.

Why do you give the captain a TH and JP when he castles up with the dreads ? I am not a big fan of tanks, they dont get chapter tactics. A contemptor mortis dreadnought with twin lascannons is only 168 pts., enemy gets -1 to hit at 12"+, hits on 2s, and has a 5+ inv. The tank isnt -1 to get hit, it cant hit on 2s, and it has no 5+ inv. If the dread gets attacked in melee it can do something when it strikes back, the tank usually cant.
