Thinking of making a switch in my Deathwatch army from my corvus which is beautiful but rubbish and switching it out for a repulsor now that it's had a fair points drop in chapter approved.

My army has 2 large blobs of primaris dudes both 10 man squads and I fancy a repulsor to carry one unit and have the other teleport in as they are my most expensive units.

Anyone else thinking of using one now?

As long as knights don't go down in popularity, big expensive vehicles like that will have problems. There is simply too much AT going around right now.

Land raiders and repulsors could easily be really good right now and we wouldn't know because of the present meta situation.

Agree with the above.

There is an element of threat saturation though. If a single Repulsor or Land Raider is your only 'big' thing then yes, it will likely get shot off the board turn 1. But if you bring a few big things, like if you have a Knight too and such, then a Repulsor may well pull its weight.

That is true in my experience. My list in recent tournament brought dakka Repulsor for anti horde, and Raven House IK Castellan for AT, and Guilliman for close combat. The Repulsor actually pulls the heaviest work in tournament, and only get killed once in 5 games.

Nice!

Yeah I imagine in that scenario most opponents feel like they need to put all their heavy firepower into the Castellan to beat your list.

I think it could work, but like everything, you'd need to have residency. Don't bring a single Repulsor if it's going to be your only vehicle, as your opponent will have a easy targevpt priority. My FLGS manager is going to use three Repulsors with 30 Intercessor and Guilliman, and I believe it can be really strong.

Repulsors can be had pretty cheaply currently. For a model that can pull off 2 or 3 IS squads a turn (depending on morale and luck) for 274 (depending on your preference - it can get cheaper) it's easy to consider bringing two. And if you're into Bobby then or Calgar then a pair could easily take down most - if not all - of the IS you see in current lists

Armour has always had the problem that you need to either go big or go home. A couple of big tanks will just provide priority targets for your opponent's AT weapons and will usually die before accomplishing much.

You need to over-load your opponent's ability to deal with big threats by fielding several. Repulsors do have value for horde clearance in the current meta and their FLY keyword means they cannot be tarpitted in melee to shut down their shooting. Blood Angels have the advantage that they can cast "Shield of Sanguinius" on a Repulsor for a 3+/5++ which helps a bit.

I also think that they pair well with Storm Ravens with anti-tank loadout (TLLC, Stormstrikes and Typhoon launcher). That is 6 anti-tank shots per turn on mobile, hard to hit platform with POTMS. All the vehicles have transport capacity so you can load some cheap Troops in for protection until they are ready to hop out and grab some objectives or kill infantry who get too close.
