If a character has an effect that is measured in inches, like 3, and uses units as a defimitition does it mean that a unit is a squad and thus as long as the character is within 3" of any models in the unit then all models get the buff?

Now if an effect uses models as a definition does tbat mean only the models within 3" get the buff not the whole unit?

OK so I put a cryptek smack in the middle of a warrior blob so the whole unit gets a 5++ save and there's a 6" bubble in the middle where the models get a +1 on their RP roll.

And I remove models from the bubble when possible because they have a greater chance of resurrecting.

Almost right, the crypteks bubble for RP and chronometron is only 3".

3" from the cryptekc would create a bubble 6" across. the cryptek is the center and it extended 3" from him so it's 6" across.

Oh ok, thats what you meant. Actually you have to add the base diameter, because you count the 3" from the base edge.

you have 3 definitions for auras:

Models within X", meaning that some models in a unit can be affected whilst others aren't

Units within X", meaning if 1 model in the unit is in range, they all get the buff

Units Entirely within X", meaning if 1 model in the unit is not within X", then the whole unit loses the buff (and Frank gets a kickin' fer wanderin' off!)

so it depends on the wording.
