So how would people feel about just facing a complete wysiwg Astartes army painted up in normal vanilla chapter colours with no death watch iconography while using the Deathwatch book??

I just think the codex is better all round and is more fitting with what a space marine should be anyway. I'm not talking about Uber competitive list here in just saying mono death watch.

Don't see an issue myself, especially if its your own chapter colours.

Perfectly fine from a RaW standpoint, thus perfectly fine. Your models paintjob doesn't influence what rules you can use.

They're all PA Marines. You'll be fine. The vanilla codex has hardly any tools that you would want anyway barring Scouts.
