I haven't posted here in a long time but I recently picked up the First Strike box set for 40K. Thought I would paint it up before giving the game another try.

Really nice work! I’d go back and paint those base rims s solid color, though. They’re currently a bit distracting, imo.

This. Base rim is what separates the model from the tabletop and it deserves to be clear and defining. It was the first thing that caught my eye and hence the word distracting is very fitting.

Going to dissent. I like the bases as is. Fits the models, and unless you have a personal table painted the exact same way, it's going to be distinct.

Even then, I'm puzzled why that would be an issue anyway, but then I started before the 'all bases and tables were goblin green' era.


Model themselves are lovely. Nurgle colors done right.
