Don't get me wrong, I like the Assault Bolters, but I kinda think for smaller games, dropping in some Assault Plasma might be nastier.
But the DI Inceptors don't have that option.

One easy conversion I was thinking of would be to chop the muzzle off at the outside of the shield and simply place a Plasma pistol muzzle in its place.
But would it look better it I just the shield off entirely? Possible also cut the top of the bolter off so that the 'coils' of the plasma can be put they too?

I also have some of those Chaos gargoyle muzzle bits that could be used too. Since the Inceptors I have are my son's Salamanders, that could look like drake head crafted by their master weapon forges?

Any thoughts?

I figure that should be fine to use the plasma pistol bit. so long as the top has the coils its pretty much unmistakable for anything other than a plasma in the context of marines.

I'm starting to lean heavily into the Chaos gargoyle muzzles (mainly b/c I have them already and they can kinda fit the Salamander's aesthetic)
I can then just greenstuff the coils just behind the shield.

Side note, why do the Assault Bolters have a shield, but the Plasma does not? Seems backwards considering the potential to blow up on the bearer.

Seems its more of a blast shield for orbital drops. at least going by the space suit aesthetics they have.
