Lets say I have a unit of 20 genestealers, they charge a wave serpent with some dark reapers in. The genestealers kill the wave serpent and the dark reapers have space to escape out the back. Now I consolidate into the escaped dark reapers. Can I then pop the fight again stratagem to attack the dark reapers?
The problem I see is I didn't declare the dark reapers as a target for the charge because they were not on the board at the time. Any way around this or does that seem to be the intent?
No, you cannot attack them that turn because you did not declare them as a target of your charge and your genestealers charged that turn. The fact you could not have possibly charged them at the time is irrelevant. You can consolidate into them to prevent them from firing the next turn, and even use the fight again stratagem to pile into and consolidate into them (again) if need be, but you cannot make any attacks against them.
