Hi Folks!

Quick question from a fledgling Tyranid (Nidzilla) player re: Tyrannofex guns. My 1000 point list currently consists of a Flyrant, the Swarmlord, 2x Tyrannofexes, and, for the giggles, a Trygon to randomly pop up and cause mayhem as needed. For the Tyrannofexes, I was wondering if Rupture Guns would be the way to go for dedicated, ranged anti-tank or if I should sacrifice that for the TAC aspect of the Acid Spray and rely on my bugs getting up close and personal to finish off any vehicles?

Also, any other tips or tricks about using Tyrannofexes would be greatly appreciated! As mentioned above, complete newbie when it comes to playing Tyranids.

I think for this kind of list, you'd be better of with Acid Spay on both of them. You'd only have two Tyrants going forward on this list otherwise (if you start the Flyrant on the table, that is). With both Tyrannofexes on the front line, that would be at least more targets for the opponent to choose from. And at 1k battle, you probably won't have to dead with too many armoured foes, but if you do the Tyrants and Trygon could deal with them in combat, so I don't think you need the Rupture Cannon here for that purpose.

At least I would not want to have my Tyrannofexes (half the army that will be on the board on turn one) sit back and try to shoot down targets while the two characters are getting shot up front.

I am very fond of Acid Spray. But I strongly suggest Magnets!
