I may convert a cryptek from some other figures, a real frankenstein job.

As to a head I plan to start with a deathmark head. Obvious, really. To make him look "regal" I may cut the semi circular back blade off a warscythe and glue it atop the deathmark head. Instant crown!

As to the requisite hipster beard, ok a little thought here lead me to look at a barrell cap for a gauss blaster. Hmmmmm, carefully xacto away one of the projections extending from the end of the barrels, maybe cut the tip down just a little, then cut off the deathmark's chin below the mouth and glue the barrel tip bit in it's place. Maybe bevel it a tad so the barrel tip sweeps forward just a bit. I think it might pass as the hipster beard needed to get into the cryptek club...

As to a body I might use a deathmark body. To give him a tech look I might take some of the thin tentacles from a wraith, drill holes in the hemispheres on the back and have them coming out of them somewhat like a techpriest mechadendrites.

A regular warrior's legs will do, as most crypteks seem to be crouchy for some reason.

Add in a staff possibly made from the warscythe I cut the back blade off to make his crown.

I have a wicked urge to put a marine auspex in his other hand, almost like he licked it up after a battle, and was somewhat curious about younger race tech, so he's still fiddling with it. Maybe he upgraded it with necron tech.

I was in the same precarious situation a while ago, but then lo and behold, Forge Bane came along, with it's new and fancy cryptek, featuring a separate cryptek head!

That cryptek also is just now available as a separate kit.

Luckily I was in possession of a set of Blue Stuff , an instant mold making thingy, allowing me to make a quick mold of the head, and churn out a couple of decent greenstuff copies.

Now this takes a way the fun, and sport, of converting, as I get near photo copies of the head, but you could always jazz them up a bit I suppose.

As for the weapon I think I made a similar copy of the staff in that kit, after asking around here: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/756297.page
I asked here what a character could hold in his non-weapon hand: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/756270.page

Both the SW head and scarab were decent suggestions. I since went with a servo skull. Thinking the guy might ponder existential questions related to souls etc around that thing.

Happy little accident time!

I was starting on a conversion using a deathmark back and I saw i'd need to cut away part of the cowl to fit a head with a crown attachment to it. So I carefully cut away the upper part of the cowl and when it was separated I set it aside, then it caught my eye a little later. Suddenly I saw something.

The cut away part was perfect for putting on a deathmark head to make it look more impressive. It just perfectly goes on a necron unadorned head to make it look more adorned and elite. I suppose some peolle could even "upgrade" their immortals with them...

Head upgrade test fitted to an immortal.

Should work better with a deathmark head that has the line down the middle... have to try it flipped over to see if the semi circular recession in the back of the piece matches up with the single eye on a deathmark....

Yeah, tried it inverted on a deathmark head. Didn't look right, reminded me of a nurgle fly symbol wings, and something else. Go with it small end down to the eye. Also the circular recession in the wide end fits the base of the back blade from a warscythe that you can put on an an additional head enhancement/crown.
