Battalion + vanguard
HQ
124 Wolflord (jumpack, Th/ss, saga of wolfkin)
109 Battle leader (jumpack, Th/ss, wulfenstone)
122 Runepriest ( jumpack, Runic stave, Armour of russ) tempest wrath, wolf spirits
TROOPS
74 5xbloodclaws (1xpowerfist)
74 5xbloodclaws (1xpowerfist)
74 5xbloodclaws (1xpowerfist)
ELITES
227 5xwulfen (4xTh/ss, leader/claws)
111 3xaggressors (frag launchers, bolt gauntlets)
120 dreadnought (twin las/ missile launcher)
194 5x terminators (3xcombi plasma/storm shield, 2x combi plasma /power fist)
HEAVY SUPPORT
170 5xlongfangs (4xlascannons)
FLYER
259 stormfang (2xlas cannons, 2xtwin heavy bolters)
TRANSPORTS
110 Razorback(twin lascannon)
116 Razorback (twin assault cannon/stormbolter)
116 Razorback (twin assault cannon/stormbolter)
Tactic.
Bloodclaws enter the stormfang and the assault _backs and move forward with my Hqs. Longfangs enter the lasback for 1st turn protection if i go second and along with their transport and the dreadnought form my backline long range fire support.
Wulfen and aggressors go on the hunt and arrive along with termies turn 2. Aggressors and termies try to get rerolls from hqs and reroll charges from wulfen.
PS: i know termies are not considered competitive choice but one with combi plasma/stormshield is 3 pts more than a helblaster with 2+/3++ , free deepstrike and the ability to take some melee weapons like fists in the squad. Also with keen senses they can dish out 10 plasma + 10 bolter shots in rapid fire range

Would swapping Razorback's for Rhinos be a bad idea? I think you would then be able to take one more dread with that loadout?

Hey thnx for feedback
I think rhinos are overpriced for what they bring on the table. Wolves tend to use their troops in 5 man squads because power armoured infantry are very points expensive for what they do and if you take them in larger squads you may also suffer morale losses.
One extra unit (like the dreadnought) on the table is always nice now that they went down in points in chapter approved, but trading 2 lascannon shots and 24 assault cannon shots for 2 lascannons and a missile launcher is not that great of a deal. Also i dont need the transport capacity of the rhino with my squads being 5 man strong.

Ah you're right, it's better this way for your list.
I think it is decent list, dont know about deep striking wulfen. They are the scare unit for the opponent, you might be forced into a bad position for deep striking due to denial. At least I would try to deny you the good location. Especially given aggressors, and terms also do it.
Would you still try doing it even if playing against likes of orks or tyranids?

Looks like a good list to me. I’m not completely sure that termies and competitive but your argument is compelling about them being superior to hellblasters. I’m not sure how useful the stormfang is but I have to admit I’ve not actually played with it myself, I can only go on what other people have said about it. I’d be tempted to get rid of it and add another unit of long fangs and use the remaining points to buff both units to 6 man with 5 heavy weapons in a each and then add in a terminator pack leader with storm shield and heavy weapon. Adding firepower to the list and giving them a 3++ into the bargain. Of course you would lose one of your transports and maybe not be able to effectively hide them if your opponent goes first but if you were really worried about that you can always set them up on the hunt? Might be worth a try but regardless let me know how you do, i’m Always trying to make wolves more competitive!

Thnx for replies.
@ ligoth : I reserve wulfen mostly against shooty armies because i will not get a charge until turn 3 (most of the time) if i deploy them on the board. Yes i would do it against orks and tyrannids if they had a shooty build. I still have a fisrt turn to clear some chaff with my guns and create a weak side in my opponent's line..
@ Mduken : Stormfang is very good for its points with the new codex. It dishes out the fire power of two long fang squads (one with anti-tank the other with anti infantry weapons) for less points and you also get more wounds, more toughness, move and shoot without penalty for heavy weapons, -1 to hit, transport capacity of 6 like a razorback
and if you loose 10 wounds you can still shoot al your weapons unlike 2 long fang squads
Also i try to have 50 /50 infantry and vehicles in my list because you hard counter lists that use little anti tank and lots of anti infantry and vice versa. Thats why i didnt take a second squad of long fangs and took the dreadnought..

I'd make termies full CC with PF/SS and replace the battle leader with arjac.
Not sure about the shooty dread and aggressors as I never played them yet.

Termies got cheaper but they are too slow for a dedicated melee unit. Also i have the wulfen going for the lucky 9" charge. I think having another unit going for a lucky 9" charge even with a reroll in risky.
Arjack is great but i ll loose the reroll 1s to wound in my razorbacks + stormfang moving castle turn 1 (because we always play the beta rule for deep strike in my meta). Also he has the same problem with mobility as assault termies plus he cant charge flyers like the jump pack battle leader

I would switch the lascannon razorback to assault cannons. It looks like you have tons of anti-tank, but IMHO you need more horde-killing for before you deep strike (note that I'm a bit of a noob).
