Was pretty excited about this expansion until I saw the €80 price tag. What does dakka think? Are you going to pick up urban conquest?

When I saw it I thought to myself,: "Well, I'd take it for 20€, but knowing GW it will probably be 40€."

Now I think I must have missed some Information or the scenery parts are much larger than I think.

It's a bit expensive I must say. I was hoping for a 50 pound price tag at best, maybe 60.

AoS Firestorm is/was 55€, and I would say it is pretty much worth that.
It gives a good start to any campaign, even though the rules need house ruling.
The components were pretty nice, the board is 4mm (?) thick, the 'stickers' are reuseable (not really stickers, they are those window stickers that don't have glue and can be pulled down without leaving any residue), the cards were okay-ish.

Adding those terrain pieces on top for Urban Conflict along with a thicker rule book are very well worth the price imo.
You also will only need one copy per running campaign, so cost can be easily split.

I haven't seen the contents...but feth no if it's anywhere near $100+. It'd have to be incredible/

Seems more like a group purchase.

I'm definitely interested because it's a campaign in a box, but I'll probably wait and see if anyone at my FLGS even cares about that before I pick it up. The store is doing a 40k league in mid-March so any campaign would likely be after that since there's an AOS league starting end of January and a Kill Team league through February so wanting to do a 40k campaign during that period would probably get little response.

Yep totally buying this. The terrain pieces look solid and I am all about campaigns.

Poor value for money IMHO.

Terrain looks interesting and the -idea- of a campaign is attractive.

Unfortunately, GW tends to set things up so that the person who gets the lead quickly becomes unstoppable.

Topped with the likelyhood it will be overpriced, I think I'll have to pass.

The card pocket city map is a pretty cool idea- there are more cards than there are pockets, so you can generate hundreds of different city layouts. Furthermore, if you have an idea for a battlefield or sector that isn't represented, you could make your own.

I'm an old school campaign guy, and this is probably a decent toolbox. I used to make campaign rules all the time, and I'm a bit nervous that this might limit creative potential, but there's an equally strong chance that the ideas and tools will actually empower creativity.

As far as buying it, I'm poor, and I still haven't managed to pick up kill team, blackstone fortress or necromunda, all of which are better places for money to go.
