So for the R&H army list, it says you can take Leman Russ Battle Tanks and Leman Russ Demolishers. Is this meant to encompass all variants of the Leman Russ or specifically these two base forms?

It's listing what units you can take. When you take that unit, you can use any options available to the unit that they do not specifically prohibit you from using when they gave permission to take the unit in the first place.

The Index had two Datasheets, split by what each kit could make.

HIWPI is you can use any of the Russ variants with the updated Codex Astra Militarum Datasheet. This is following all GW’s “use the latest published version” instructions to update appropriately.

There’ll be a guy along soon to tell you that because FW couldn’t predict the future and didn’t include page references for a book that didn’t exist at the time of publication you are somehow stuck with Index rules only, and because they haven’t bothered to FAQ it that it’s intentional. Don’t listen to that guy. It’s a crazy standpoint to pretend the Russ Datasheets don’t update.

But yeah, the Leman Russ Datasheets plural from the Index have been amalmagated and superseded in the Astra Militarum Codex. Use that one.

Good thing this is actually addressed in the FAQ for IA: Forces of the Astra Militarum

Q: The Death Korps of Krieg, Elysian Drop Troops and

that can be taken from Index: Imperium 2. Do these units
have to be taken from Index: Imperium 2, or can they be

A: If the unit appears in Codex: Astra Militarum, you must
use the datasheet from there.

'Leman Russ Battle Tanks' as a datasheet exists in Codex: Astra Militarum, so you can use all of the variants listed in that datasheet.

You can technically also use 'Leman Russ Demolishers' from Index: Imperium 2, however I don't know why you'd want to.

They are still individual unique Datasheets. As such, you can only take them in R&H armies if they are explicitly listed in the units you can take.

That's what I meant. The references in the R&H list of available unit clearly state a book for where to find the Leman Russ datasheet that's referenced, and it's clearly not referencing the Leman Russ datasheets within the Imperial Armour book.It would obviously say "XY Leman Russ on page XY of Imperial Armour - ..."
