I was reading the CSM tactics thread and someone mentioned rules from Forge World and White Dwarf and that they are all canon/ legit GW rules. Are there collections of these rules somewhere? I don't even know which such units there are for my army (CSM) since I started literally one week ago. I know that for Dwarfs, way back when, there were Doomseekers, which had special rules in I think White Dwarf.

Fw, altough uncommon is officially 40k.

As for the rules, atm they are all over the place.
F.e csm regular need the codex, probably the index, Chapter approved, a Variation of faq, however fw produces additional books with units so you need also the right fw book for csm.

So generally you need atleast CA + CODEX + RULEBOOK + Faq and if you intend to run specific fw models (decimator f.e.) then ofcourse also the Fw book.

If you only started out a week ago, you don't need anything other than the free core rules and the codex. Everything else is add-on. Some is more necessary than others (FAQs and the 40k Rulebook for instance) but not absolutely necessary. Don't worry about this other stuff for now or you'll run the risk of getting overwhelmed. To answer your question about White Dwarf: No! I don't believe these rules are collected anywhere.
