Hi all,
just impulse brought myself a Deredeo dreadnought with missile launcher and both Anvilus Autocannons and plasma carronnade arms.

Couple of questions: Firstly loadout wise it seems to me the Autocannons are best just due to their superior range over the plasma (I brought the plasma mainly because they look cool). Is this people experience with them? Has anyone found that the plasma is ok even with only 24" range? Am I right to disregard the lascannons (they looked a bit meh).

Then I've a few modelling questions for people who have the kit. How easy is it to magnetise the arms so I can swap loadouts? looks like it might be a bit trickier than the usual single arm magnet. Also does the kit come with a piece to represent the extra forcefield projector (can't remember the name) that can be taken instead of the missile launcher?

Thanks for any help.

Forgeworld never released the atomantic pavasse model, some teaser shots and it disappeared, same with the 4 maniticor? Missile rack they haven't released.

The arms can be magnetised but it is a proper fiddly job to get them set level and lined up and etc, but even without magnetising they are not an easy to build kit, not massively complex, just fiddly.

Autocannons are my preference, I have considered the lascannons, but the plasma is just bleh to me.

Thanks for the info, just found the teaser shots of the pavasse. I think I'll just knock one up from my bits box to use when not taking the missile launcher, could just leave it blank I suspose but I prefer to have something there so people can see its got one.

I don't mind the fiddly but think I may have to go for pins as well as magnets to get them to sit right it seems. Either that or just forgo the plasma option :( they look so cool but I just can't see them getting used much for the effort it may take to mag them. Wish I'd done a little more research beforehand, ah well, they'll make a cool turret for something :-)

You can magnetize the arms, but you wouldn't be able to use the power cables/ammo feeds that come off the weapons and attach to the back power unit/ammo bin, and the back power unit/ammo bin is different for each version of the Dorito.

Spicy Nacho Hot Dorito: Lascannons
Blazzing Buffallo Dorito: Plasma Cannons
Cool Ranch Dorito: Autocannons

Secondary armament is totally preference. I've never regretted taking the missile launcher.

Thats what I'm looking to use, what do you use to represent the shield? I believe there is a hole if you don't use the missile rack?

You can actually magnetise both which is what I have done so you swap out both the weapons and ammo hoppers as one unit, but it's difficult.

I assembled the arms, ammo feeds and ammo bins/power packs as one piece. Magnets went in the shoulder sockets and where the ammo packs attach behind the arms. I found it pretty straightforward.

Most chapters you want the cannons but for dark angels plasma is the way to do go due to inherent re rolls and relics of old night, 5 damage 4 overcharged shots that can't get hot is asking for them.

The ailos always does it's work for me too so I take it over the pavise.

The las varient doesn't see a lot of play for me though as the autocannons and plasma are better at the jobs I need it for, I get my anti tank elsewhere for cheaper
